After that, her father left to fight in the Hundred Year War, along with all the other grown warriors, and Makki and her siblings were put under the care of their Gran Gran. She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. The three of them would cross paths with Aang, Katara, and Sokka, but Makki would always have trouble reuniting with her siblings, so she would try her best to show Zuko the right path.
