Mu qing starts avoiding him. Feng xin wants to feed his ego and think that it's because Mu qing is too much of a pussy to face and fight him. But no. That'll be the last thing Mu qing will ever be. Mu qing does not cower. Not even when threatened by the former emperor himself. So he knows that that's not the case. Even if Mu qing himself tells him that (which ofcourse he wouldn't) he won't believe it. So, even if Feng xin doesn't want to, he can't help but think. Why the fuck is Mu qing avoiding him? And when the truth came out, fluff ensues.

After everything at Tong'lu, Xie Lian, Mu Qing, and Feng Xin are getting along better than even before the first ascension. Something takes advantage of this delicate new beginning to attack Mu Qing. There's a sexual assault (first chapter), but it's not graphic and mostly off-stage. Explicit stuff will be consensual. I'm trying to subvert some noncon tropes. So that's why it'll seem very not great at first. Gonna take you to the gates of Tong'lu, but we're going to go right back to Puqi Shrine, I promise. They say that Mu qing and Feng xin is the perfect example of the saying 'water and oil don't mix'. Well, it's true. They really dont mix. But once oil and water meet, it will be hard to separate. Some also say that they are total opposites of each other. Well isn't there a saying that 'opposites attract'? They're also often compared to Tom and Jerry. You might think it's because of their endless bickering. But that's not the reason why their relationship is being compared to that of Tom and Jerry.
