We all know the origin stories of Ratchet and Clank as presented in the games of the Ratchet & Clank franchise. And we have come to love these two great characters because of those games. But what of other dimensions? What of alternate, parallel dimensions, where those origins may have played out differently? And of events which came after? Now have a look into the origins of a very different Ratchet, from a dimension where good is evil and evil is good. Where we get to know a bit more about the sinister parallel of Ratchet I first introduced in my fanfiction "Facets, Book 1: What Is And What Should Never Be". Prepare for a very different take on our favorite lombax hero! It will start out pretty similar to the early events of the 2002 Ratchet & Clank game, but it's not going to stay that way for very long! Ratchet and Clank are back on Fastoon, about a year after the events in the game "Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time", and are studying the ruins and looking into lombax culture. They soon discover a research laboratory, containing an ancient portal which sends them careening into an alternate parallel dimension - a place where the normal conventions of behavior, morality, etc. are flipped on their heads, and history has played out somewhat differently. Here they encounter characters who are the opposites of what they are in their own universe, and must deal with each as a result. It will be the beginning of an emotional roller coaster ride for the two heroes! This is the first of what will be a multi-story arc, as Ratchet and Clank stumble through several dimensions while trying to find their way home! PLEASE NOTE: This story has some violence in it, but no gore. There is also a tiny amount of body horror as well as a little cursing. But I hope you'll stay with the story through to the end...I expect you'll be glad you did!
