☆ SLOW BURN • DARK ROMANCE ☆ 〜 They burned her kingdom to ash. Now she sleeps beneath the roof of its conqueror. Clarice, last princess of Sahradyn, was meant to die with her family. Instead, she was spared, dragged across enemy lines and locked in a tower by the man who shattered her world. King Caelen of Velmoras is cold, calculating, and ruthless. He offers her only one choice: become his concubine, or rot in the tower. Yet even as Clarice plots her survival, something stirs between them. A pull. A thread. The old texts call it the soul-thread: a bond said to bind enemies as often as lovers, rare and perilous, long dismissed as myth. But Clarice feels it now, in every glance, every silence, every clash of wills with the man she should hate above all others. As war brews on the borders and kingdoms begin to fracture, Clarice must decide whether the thread binding her to Caelen is a curse to be severed, or a weapon powerful enough to change the fate of empires.

The forest had never seemed so alive, so hostile. Branches clawed at her gown, dragging at the white tulle as if the trees themselves wanted to keep her from escaping. Breath ragged, heart pounding, she ran faster. The runaway princess. Behind her lay the gilded prison she had once called home, and ahead-unknown freedom. Or so she thought. Far beyond the forest, nestled against the cliffs where sunlight dared not linger, stood an ancient cursed kingdom. Its walls bled with ivy, its spires broken yet unyielding. Legends whispered that no soul entered its gates and lived unchanged. Some said shadows ruled there. Others claimed the land itself was alive, waiting for its chosen queen. It was there he waited-the man feared across kingdoms. A ruthless dark king, his armor a thing of black steel and intricate carvings, his presence commanding silence, even from the winds. He had built his reign upon fire and fear, yet his hunger was not for power alone. His hunger was for her. "You carry fire in your veins, little one-fire that was always meant to be mine." And when battle raged around them, when swords clashed and fire lit the skies, he fell-not as king, but as a man whispering his final truth against her lips: "I was yours from the beginning... and I'll be yours until the end." The world seemed to crumble that night. And yet, in the ruins, in the ashes, in the silence that followed-she felt his presence, watching, waiting. "He chose you long before you were born." The runaway princess was never meant to be free. She was meant to reign beside him. Not as his captive. Not even as his queen. But as his fire. As his fate. As his undoing.

In a kingdom where curses are more than mere fairy tales, an ancient castle stands hidden behind walls of dark thorns, forgotten by all but the bravest and the most foolish. For within those shadowed halls slumbers a prince cursed by his own heart's betrayal. Once a ruler feared for his power and beauty, he now lies in a spellbound sleep, imprisoned by a vengeful sorceress who demanded a price for his cruelty: eternal rest, unless someone awakens him and binds their fate to his. Mira has never believed in fairy tales. Life in her village is one of harsh reality, where survival depends on wit and willpower. But when her family's future hangs in the balance, she's driven to the one place her people have always feared. Rumors of a sleeping prince and a curse that can be broken are all she has to go on, yet desperation leaves her no choice. But awakening the prince sets a far greater plan in motion, and the darkness she thought she'd face is only the beginning. Now, bound to a prince whose shadows dance with danger and desire, Mira must learn to navigate a world of magic, betrayal, and a fate that pulls them both toward something neither can escape. The only question is, who will break first-the girl with fire in her veins or the prince whose heart has long since turned to stone?

**She was meant to disappear into the dark. Instead, the dark carried her home.** Aurelia was taken from the sea and broken beneath stone-her body chained, her voice stolen, her identity erased. Kept alive only because a cruel king believed she held the secrets of the merpeople, she learned one truth above all else: Silence is survival. When a violent invasion shatters her prison, Aurelia expects death. What she finds instead is him. A warrior forged of shadow and restraint. A man whose power decays iron and bends fear into obedience. He does not ask her name. He does not demand her loyalty. He carries her out of the dark as if it is inevitable-like fate finally remembering her. But Theo of High Raven is not merely a rescuer. He is a prince of a kingdom carved from obsidian and ravens, where power is ancient, borders are guarded by monsters, and nothing survives without purpose. As Aurelia is drawn north into a land that blooms where it should rot. Caught between a throne that fears her, a kingdom that watches her, and a man whose silence feels more dangerous than any threat, Aurelia must lie convincingly enough to stay alive-while hiding a truth that could shatter borders, crowns, and gods alike. Because she is not ordinary. She never was. And if the world learns what sleeps beneath her skin- Even the Black Throne will not stand tall enough to stop her. A dark fantasy of secrets, slow-burn tension, ancient magic, and the dangerous pull between two forces the world was never meant to contain.

Blood Descent, must be read first. You'll also notice a shift in Matic's voice, I weaved in more of his 1500's cadence to be truer to the man he was before five centuries of imprisonment. Lastly, I change his nickname from Stormbringer to Stormwalker. - Wicked Descent Summary: Viola survived the darkness. Thane is dead, but his corruption isn't, and the cure waits in Tehom. Matic is finally free-no more prison, no more chains. But freedom comes with a leash and a parasitic sickness. Matthew allows the travel to the demon realm with one condition: deliver a criminal to Tehom, and Matic's probation ends and Viola gets her cure. Simple. Except nothing about Tehom is simple. Stripped of her ley line magik, in a court of ancient predators, Viola discovers she's not just Matic's companion-she's his weakness. And in a realm where dragon factions circle for war and demon lords sharpen their knives in the shadows, weakness is a death sentence. Until Matic offers her a lifeline: himself. One taste of his essence, and the power that flows through her is darker. Rawer. Hungry. Viola tells herself she'll stop once they're safe. Once the mission is over. Matic tells himself he's protecting her, that Askar holds the answer to saving them both. They're both lying. Because with every pull of Tehom's power, Viola changes. And Matic, watching her eyes stay darker and her magik turn vicious, realizes the terrible truth: he wants her exactly like this. Corrupted. Powerful. His. And as the mission erupts into chaos and enemies close in from all sides, the promise of a cure looms in the distance. But Tehom has already marked Viola. And the remedy that can save her life might cost her everything that's made her feel powerful. Matic has to choose: the woman she was, or the monster she's becoming. The problem? He wants the monster.

"No." I stated. "They don't exist." His emerald eyes pierced into my soul, they seemed to be dissecting me. He had his arms wrapped around my waist, each passing second his grip was getting tighter and tighter. He started to lean in, closing the gap between us. His eyes never hesitating from my lips. He inched closer and closer until I could feel his minty breath now fanning out on my face. He licked his lips before looking into my own eyes again, and with a smirk he swooped his head down. I prepared for the kiss but it never came, he came in and swiped his head to the side. Rubbing his cheek with my own, the soft stubble scratching my skin and sending shockwaves down my spine as he moved to my ear. Sera grew up believing kindness was enough to survive the world. As the daughter of a baron, she lived modestly, loved deeply, and fell for the wrong boy. Leon-arrogant, wealthy, and cruel-was the boy she liked. And the boy who bullied her the most. What began as childish teasing slowly became something sharper, more humiliating. Tired of waiting for kindness that never came, Sera turned away from him and poured her heart into studying magic instead. She learned to grow strong alone. Only then did Leon feel it. The ache in his chest. The twist in his stomach. The fear of losing something he never thought mattered. But by the time Leon understands his own feelings, Sera has already changed-calm, distant, and standing beside Sebastian, the gentle crown prince who treats her with quiet respect. This is a slow-burning hate-to-love story where love comes too late, hearts are tested by pride and regret, and the line between cruelty and devotion blurs. Though it begins within the walls of an imperial academy, A Bitter Taste unfolds into a tale of war, magic, and destiny-ending on the battlefield and within the royal palace, where mages, swordsmen, and healers must choose who they truly are... and who they are willing to lose.
