"We can teach each other everything, Jason."
Jason Todd is lost. Fresh from his resurrection and escape from Ra's al Ghul's fortress, he's fled to Japan-a stranger in a foreign land, trying to piece together who he is now that death and revival have fundamentally changed him. The Lazarus Pit brought him back, but it couldn't restore what he'd lost: his sense of purpose, his place in the world, his ability to feel anything beyond rage and emptiness.
He's planning something-revenge, justice, a reckoning-but first, he needs time. Time to think. Time to become something other than Bruce Wayne's dead Robin.
Then comes the rain.
Seeking shelter in a phone booth, Jason encounters someone unexpected: a young man with purple hair and green eyes who stumbles in, soaked and laughing. Someone who looks at Jason-scarred, dangerous, radiating barely-contained violence-and isn't afraid. Someone who smiles at him like he's just a person.
They talk. Just two strangers waiting out a storm.
Jason doesn't know that this chance meeting will change everything. He doesn't know that the gentle café worker with the pretty smile is hiding secrets that dwarf his own. He doesn't know that they're both running from their pasts, both struggling with what they've become, both desperate for connection while convinced they don't deserve it.
In the rain-soaked streets of Japan, Jason Todd and Y/n Raze begin something neither expected: a chance at understanding, at finding someone who knows exactly what it means to lose yourself and fight to get back.
But secrets have a way of surfacing. Pasts have a way of catching up. And when two people built for destruction fall in love, the world has a way of testing whether they can stay together or not.
Some bonds are forged in darkness. Some love stories begin with death. And sometimes, the person you need most is the one who understands your monsters-because they're fighting the same ones.
