She truly believes that her entire existence is based on beating the odds or more so, she feels like her purpose is to defeat them, no matter how troublesome they might be. Luckily Lauren is good. She is strong and she is fearless, but some things are inevitable. One thing for example is that things that go up will eventually fall down. And Lauren, she falls. And when she first falls, she falls hard. But even when she fails she beats the odds, surviving the fall with severe damage to her body and then, as simple as that, she meets nurse Cabello. A woman with a completely different outlook on life and with a nature that for once makes Lauren feel grounded.
