Kion and Rani lived their lives happily in The Tree of Life , as he embarks a new chapter in the Circle of life: A father to two cubs of his own: Mufusa and Janna. Mufsua hasn't known about being a leader like his parents, and one day, he ventures out of the Tree of Life, and learns of his father's past, and wants to take the role of being a leader of the Lion Guard for the Tree of Life. In this story Kion is not the Prince of Pridelands. He was actually the son of two lions named Simba and Nala who used travel around in search of a new safe home until one day , they died while protecting Kion from a pack of leopards. Kion somehow escaped from the leopards because of his parents and then started living alone in a forest alone without any friends. Until One Day, he helps a lioness named Rani, her Night Pride and her parents who are lost, to reach their home to the Tree of Life after which he learns that living with friends is much better than living alone.

Kion and Rani have defeated the darkness in the north and restored peace to the Tree of Life. Yet as they try to keep their family safe, a strange but familiar lion reveals himself.
