Six months after getting diagnosed with epilepsy, Kaden's parents move him to San Francisco, California so he can see an epileptologist. Once the star of his varsity basketball team, Kaden is eager to try out for the team at his new school, but his mother has forbidden him to play. Kaden's twin brother Logan quickly finds himself trapped between two choices: helping his brother live or giving him something to live for. Unfortunately, this means lying at home and lying at school, where the boys have been keeping the epilepsy a secret. Logan starts try outs with his heart set on making varsity, and Kaden secretly joins in. So far, Kaden hasn't had a seizure at school, but the situation gets complicated when Kaden realizes he has two girls hitting on him, and they both know about the epilepsy. He's torn between two choices, the cheerleader who found out about his epilepsy at a beach party, or the mysterious girl from his epilepsy clinic, who can relate to him because she has seizures too. In My Hands takes us into the heart of a family torn apart by epilepsy. A.C. Sutliff offers us a touching story about what it truly means to lose control of your life, and the powerful bonds of friendship you can create when you step out on the journey to take back control.

Teenage baller Kaden Hastings has a fit when his family moves to California. He can handle the new medical diagnosis that slowly eats away at his life, but when his parents separate him from his teammates and girlfriend to move him to California to see an epilepsy specialist, Kaden can't deal with it anymore. Logan Hastings has a confession. For him, the move is a chance to finally help his brother, who now has no one else to turn to for support. Logan finds that helping his brother means lying at school, lying at home, and even letting Kaden risk his life for basketball. Still plagued with guilt for causing Kaden's epilepsy, Logan must choose between helping his brother live and giving him something to live for. When Kaden meets a mysterious girl at his new epilepsy clinic, he's drawn to her, and not just because they have several things in common. When Logan pushes Kaden to get with a cheerleader at his new school, Kaden is left with a choice: the popular cheerleader who reminds him that he used to play basketball, or the mysterious girl in his art class who can relate to him, because she has epilepsy, too.
