This story 가시연 (Gashiyeon), is famously known internationally as Thorn Year. However 가시연 actually loosely translates to Thorn Lily. Gashiyeon actually means 'Lily with a thorn' or 'You're the one who should love my thorn'. The title is believed to be chosen based on the premise that despite the problems Jaejoong causes, Yunho is the only one who puts up with and forgives him. Jaejoong is seen as the Lily with thorns.
