This is the story of Kyoya Xiao long, an 17-year-old lion Faunus who was adopted by Tai and Yang during the time when Tai and Raven were still together. As a lion Faunus, Kyoya possesses long green hair, sharp green eyes, and fangs. His anti-social tendencies developed after Raven left, but he remains social with his family and close friends. After the death of Summer, Kyoya realizes the fragility of life and becomes determined to become stronger to protect those he cares about. Through rigorous training with Qrow, Ruby, and Yang, Kyoya discovers his semblance and sets a goal to become a Huntsman. He vows to prevent others from experiencing the pain of loss that he has endured and to fulfill the promise he made to his mother: to use his strength to protect his family and loved ones. Kyoya's anti-social behavior stems from the discrimination he faces as a Faunus. He harbors a general distrust and dislike for most humans due to their prejudice towards non-humans. However, he strongly disagrees with the actions of the White Fang, as he believes their methods will not bring about true change. Despite his distaste for humans, Kyoya's love for fighting drives him to seek out challenging battles, always determined to emerge victorious.
