"What's the relation between smoking and coming closer to me?" I asked through gritted teeth. "Hai, kyu ni hai," Exhaling another slow plume of grey smoke, he whispered roughly, "Lighter toh nibad liya, so the only option left is lighting your cig with mine and..." He tilted his head, leaving a fingertip's distance between the tip of his cigarette and mine. "And?" I prompted. "And that requires me to be closer to you." I stared at him, my heart hammering violently against my ribs, then gestured toward the unlit cigarette. He brought the glowing tip of his cigarette toward mine, only to freeze just before they touched. "Why the hell did you stop?" I muttered, holding the cigarette firmly between my lips. "I can't light it..." he said, his gaze dropping to the single inch of space keeping our bodies apart. Agh... This man is teasing me way too much. "You can bend," I suggested. "My back hurts," he said, stepping away just a fraction. "Koi ni, kal lighter laa dyunga fer-" Before he could finish, I hooked a finger through his chain and yanked him forward, erasing that final inch between us. His hand instantly slammed against my waist to catch his balance, his eyes snapping down to lock with mine. "Now will you light it?" He let out a low, husky chuckle. Then leaned in, pressing the burning tip of his cigarette straight into mine until both embers flared together.

Ira parents, her brothers, even the family celebrated her like she was one of their own. Birthdays, dinners, small achievements... the praise always went to Niya. "Ira, you should be more like Niya." "I wish Niya was my sister." "Take a lesson from Niya." Day by day, Ira felt invisible. Starved for love and attention, she did things she shouldn't have, hurt Niya, humiliated her, even darker. But nothing worked. Then came Viaan. Her childhood love. The one she thought would finally make her happy. But he chose Niya too. The pain and humiliation were too much for her to handle. That night, walking alone in the rain after being abandoned at her own wedding, Ira was hit by a truck. A brutal accident that ended her life. But life gave her a second chance. A rebirth. She remembered everything. Every insult. Every betrayal. Every heartbreak. And somewhere in that second life... there is this man. Reevan. A man she was never meant to cross paths with. Forbidden. Can love survive betrayal, lies, and fate? "You knew, didn't you?" My voice trembled, torn between fury and heartbreak as I raised the blade. "Rashmika, calm yourself-" Before he could finish, I pressed the dagger's tip against his throat. "Answer me!" I hissed, eyes scorching into his. A tense silence swallowed the room, broken only when he admitted in a strained whisper, "Yes, I knew." His hand seized mine, firm, but I did not flinch. I pressed the dagger harder, the sharp blade biting into flesh, crimson drops sliding down his neck. "I hate you, Yuvraj Raghuveer Singh Rajput," I hissed, voice trembling, tears carving paths down my cheeks. When he reached up, as if to wipe them away, as if I would let him touch me, I shoved him back with the force of every betrayal, every shattered trust, letting my rage explode, fierce and unrelenting. "I will never forgive you!" I screamed, storming out of the chamber, the metallic jingle of my anklets ringing like a warning with every step.
