"𝟗-𝟏-𝟏, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲?" To the teams at the LAFD and the LAPD, 30-year-old Eleanor "Ellie" Hart is pure sunshine. Armed with infectious golden retriever energy and an innate desire to care for everyone around her, she has quickly become the heart of the dispatch floor and the reliable voice the city needs on the other end of the radio. But behind her bright smiles, relentless apologies, and addictive need to be needed lies a difficult past. Haunted by a brutal workplace tragedy that ended her previous career as a pediatric nurse, Ellie throws herself entirely into her new role at the Los Angeles Emergency Communications Center, carrying a heavy emotional weight she refuses to share with anyone. As Ellie rotates through the high-stakes floors of the building, her world expands exponentially. From the sarcastic, tight-knit crew of fellow dispatchers, to the reckless firefighters of Station 118 and the sharp, protective officers of Mid-Wilshire LAPD, she inadvertently catches the attention of everyone on the line. They think she's just the steady voice keeping them safe in the field. But as the boundaries of her personal struggles begin to blur, this massive, multi-agency found family might just have to team up to save the girl who spends every second trying to save others. .˚✧˚₊ ☎︎ ─•၊၊||၊|။|၊||၊၊•─ ☎︎ ₊˚✧ ゚. Shadows Beneath the Surface Book One of The Merlin Files Everyone knows Evan "Buck" Buckley as the fearless firefighter of Los Angeles' Firehouse 118. The guy who never hesitates to run toward danger. The guy who always finds a way to bring everyone home. But before the turnout gear... before the 118... before Los Angeles... Buck lived another life. At eighteen, he enlisted in the United States Navy, becoming an elite Aviation Rescue Swimmer attached to Special Operations. Known by the call sign **Merlin**, he rescued Navy SEALs from impossible missions, survived operations erased from official records, and earned the respect of Bravo Team. Then one classified mission changed everything. Buck walked away from the military, buried his medals, locked away his past, and never looked back. For six years, no one-not Bobby, Eddie, Hen, Chimney, Maddie, or Athena-has known the truth. Until a weathered Navy challenge coin appears in Buck's locker with two words engraved on the back: **WELCOME HOME.** At the same time, across the country, paramedic **TK Strand** responds to what should have been a routine emergency. Instead, a dying stranger slips him a flash drive and whispers a single word... **"Merlin."** As a dangerous conspiracy resurfaces, Buck's carefully hidden past collides with his present, forcing Bravo Team, Firehouse 118, and Firehouse 126 into a fight that spans two states and years of buried secrets. Old loyalties will be tested. New friendships will be forged. And Buck will have to decide whether he can truly leave one life behind while protecting the one he has now. Because some battles never end... They just wait beneath the surface.

Crossover: Yellowstone × 9-1-1 After the devastating lawsuit against the 118, Eva "Buck" Buckley-the female version of Evan Buckley-has nothing left. The family she would have died for barely speaks to her anymore, and every shift reminds her she no longer belongs. When she returns to her loft one rainy evening, broken and exhausted, she finds the one person who has never failed to come back to her. Kayce Dutton. They met years ago while he was serving in the Army, becoming unlikely best friends through letters, phone calls, and the rare visits whenever he was stateside. One night of shared grief, whiskey, and honesty changes everything. By morning, they're in love. A week later, they're married. A month after that, Eva discovers she's carrying twins. Then tragedy strikes the Dutton family. Lee Dutton is dead. Without hesitation, Kayce takes his wife home to Montana, where Eva leaves the 118 behind forever. She expects to be treated as an outsider. Instead... Beth Dutton, feared by almost everyone, becomes fiercely protective of her, seeing a kindred spirit beneath Eva's brave smile. Rip Wheeler quietly claims her as the little sister he never had. The bunkhouse treats her like family. John Dutton welcomes her home. Only Jamie earns her distrust. As Eva's pregnancy progresses, the ranch slowly realizes she's expecting not one baby-but two boys. When Eva's estranged parents suddenly arrive at Yellowstone, everyone on the ranch witnesses firsthand the emotional neglect and cruelty that shaped the woman they now love. The Duttons make one thing very clear: She is one of them now. Months later, members of the 118 finally find her in Montana... Only to discover that the woman they pushed away has found the family she always deserved. "Just a heads up that I used AI tools to help brainstorm, expand my ideas, and edit some parts of this book. When Rachel Sloan decided to be a firefighter it was definitely a shock to a lot of Rachel's family. Growing up in a family full of doctors most expected her to do the same. Her father was known for being a world class plastic surgeon. After all, he was the Mark Sloan. Her mother Ariana was a neurosurgeon who was damn good at her job. Rachel grew up with her cousin Noah Shepherd since her dad was best friends with his parents. Derek Shepherd and Addison Montgomery were married for over ten years but Addison had an affair with Mark. After that Derek took Noah and moved to Seattle. About a year later Mark went and brought Rachel with him. The trip became a permanent thing and Rachel enjoyed Seattle. That was until it quickly became chaos. After dealing with so much death and nearly dying multiple times she couldn't take it anymore. Of course the genes of being a doctor stayed in her and she went to med school at 17. She completed her intern year but halfway through residency realized she wasn't doing what she wanted. So she became a paramedic first then a firefighter. She joined the 118 when she was twenty five and had been there since. Moving to L.A was a change but it was one she was happy with. Everything was going smoothly until a certain blonde walked into the firehouse named Evan Buckley.
