In the late 1990s, as the Kargil war raged, a nineteen-year-old bride lived in quiet torment. Her husband had left for the front, their marriage still fresh with unspoken dreams, and she was left behind with nothing but hope. Day after day, she sat by the wooden door, her eyes fixed on it as though sheer will could make it open. Every footstep on the street, every knock, every echo of boots made her heart surge-only to fall again into silence. The house carried his absence like a wound: his books untouched, his scent still lingering on the uniform folded away. At night, she clutched his photograph, whispering, "Come back soon... your bride waits." Outside, the world honored its soldiers, but inside her heart only one question remained-would he return to her, or would the door never open again? So let us step into her world, into that silent home filled with echoes of love and longing. Let us watch her wait, with trembling hope and tear-stained prayers. And together, let us turn the pages of her story... to discover whether the soldier she loved returned to her arms, or remained only in her memories.

Once upon a time, men and women entered marriage with very clear policies regarding the division of labour: he would go to work and "bring home the bacon," while she would stay at home and cook, clean, and raise the children. Things aren't the same as they used to be. Modern Indian romance, intimacies, and marriages are far more complicated than assessments and reality television shows portray. In India, arranged marriages are an unique and complex process. People seek a 'soulmate' with whom they can spend the rest of their lives, but they also have specific expectations of the potential bride or groom. There is a strong narrative about finding love, compatibility, and connection, but what stands out is a real intent to replicate class identities beneath all of this. In a country that depends on a spending population, "middle class" is a necessary armour, a shared language, a value system, and, more importantly, a way of life. Life may be unjust, irritating, and disarmingly disappointing on most days. Being middle class, on the other hand, creates character in a culture obsessed with the need to be a part of the rat race. Marriage also places the onus of making sacrifices, concessions, and making the marriage work on the couple. This tale illuminates the unseen and underappreciated aspects of an Indian arranged marriage, the life of a middle-class wife and husband and their shared responsibilities as they navigate through life. Immense amount of desi tadka awaiting your way. *I don't own the illustration on the poster.*

Opposite attracts But... What if Both have same nature. This story has a beautiful blend of family warmth, character depth, and an unfolding connection between Randhir and Sanyukta. The contrast between Randhir's shy, reserved nature and Sanyukta's innocent yet expressive personality adds intrigue. "He doesn't say 'I love you.' But he changed in all the ways that yelled it." •••••••••••••• Vaani Joshi never expected love from her arranged marriage - just respect, maybe some space, and silence she could live with. Dhruv Deshmukh was exactly that: powerful, unreadable, and cold. He didn't ask her what she liked. He didn't ask how her day was. And she never asked for anything. But then he started noticing. Not her words - her silences. Not what she wanted - what she gave up. The man who never looked twice is now the one who watches her the closest. And the girl who never expected anything... is the reason he's learning how to give everything. •••••••••••••••• "Why do you always notice the things I don't say?" He looked at her for a long second. "Because you never ask. And I've never wanted to give anyone more." •••••••••••••••• Tropes: Slow-burn romance | Arranged marriage | Contemporary drama | Indian diaspora | Urban luxury + emotional intimacy | Cold ML x Soft FL | Changing for her 🏅#1 in India 🏅#1 in Indian 🏅#1 in desi 🏅#1 in romance

An arrange marriage story Life has a funny way of bringing two people together. Sometimes, love doesn't start with fireworks-it begins in the most unexpected moments, in small gestures that slowly weave two hearts together. Nithya never thought marriage would change her life much. She had always been independent, focused on her work, and content in her own world. But when she married Karthick Kannan, a man she barely knew, everything shifted. Karthick was a man of few words, but his actions spoke louder than anything. He believed in responsibility, in doing what was right. Marriage, to him, was not just about companionship-it was a lifelong commitment. He didn't expect love to come easily, but he also never imagined how deeply Nithya would become a part of him. Their love didn't happen overnight. It grew in quiet moments- Little by little, they unraveled each other's hearts, discovering a love that was steady, deep, and unshakable. But love isn't just about sweet moments-it's about facing life together, through challenges and uncertainties. As they walked this journey, Karthick and Nithya realized that love wasn't just something they found in each other. It was something they built, piece by piece, through trust, patience, and an unspoken understanding. This is their story-a love that started as strangers and slowly turned into something unbreakable. please don't copy my works!
