Their love was rumored fact and fiction, blurring the lines between reel and real. After a decade apart, John Black, a retired baseball player and now Hollywood star, reaches out to Marlena Evans with an opportunity she cannot refuse. The challenge? They must contend with feelings of longing and attraction, leading to an arrangement.

I really don't know what will come of this, but I had an idea and had to get it down. Marlena and John have a chance meeting a decade after their affair.

I wrote this many moons ago and never got to finish it up. Going to try to rediscover the story and characters as I go. You're welcome to come along for the journey, if you wish. This is my take on the affair from 1993, set in that moment in time. Hope you enjoy (:

A Days of Our Lives story about Marlena finally coming to terms with all that has happened to her in her life. She experiences PTSD and must be hospitalized for treatment. Everyone thinks she is well, but she has one last battle with her Fear that could cost her her life if John cannot reach her in time.

Post Marlena's 1992 return to Salem. Marlena made the decision to give her marriage to Roman a try, but is struggling. John, putting his own pain aside, is frequently there to help her. Thank you to Ms. Goldie for the cover art and for inspiring me to revise and continue this story!

What if Isabella hadn't been pregnant, ultimately leading the man we came to know as John Black choosing Marlena. This leaves Marlena with a very difficult choice. It will be the biggest decision of her life.

A different twist after the Affair... *I don't know how long this will be... or how often I can update. But it's been rolling around in my head and I had to get it out lol.*

Who's voice is coming from upstairs? After two possessions and a tumultuous past, Marlena can't escape it. She cannot unhear it. She seeks comfort from John, but still needs answers. People who she thought she could trust don't believe her. People stare, comparing her to her past. Still, the whispers follow her in every corner of the penthouse. Marlena flees to Aremid to find help from a known rival.

This vignette takes place in an Alternate Universe Salem (or maybe the TV Salem is the AU Salem and this is the real one, take your pick!). Subsex and everything that followed never happened. Although it is not necessary to know/has no relevance really, Belle and Brady were never SORASed. The "Roman Brady" who returned in 1997 was subsequently found to be an imposter in '99 and it was revealed that John Black was, in fact, Roman Brady all along. Marlena and RoJohn were re-married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Hawaii on July 4, 1999. There was no submarine and no Princess Gina. On their return to Salem in August, RoJohn returned to the Salem police force. But it's not been a completely easy transition.....
