He looked into her eyes, a storm of emotion swirling behind his steady gaze. "You don't even know who I actually am," he said, his voice low, trembling just slightly. The fear was real-raw. The thought of her discovering the truth, of walking away once she knew... it haunted him. After so much struggle finally they are together. now..he couldn't afford to lose her. Not when she meant everything. But then, without flinching, she met his eyes and answered with a calm that carried weight. "And you don't know who I am... or what I did to you." There was fire in her voice, but also something darker something buried. He didn't understand. Still, she seemed so composed, like it didn't shake her. But it shook him. Because if his secret ever came to light, he was certain it would destroy everything between them. Their bond, their love gone in an instant. She stepped back slightly, her voice soft now. Almost too soft. "I just know I love you. That's it." And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving him standing there. But the fear didn't leave her. It stayed-settled in his chest, growing heavier by the second. Then, his phone rang. He glanced at the screen. That number again. His stomach twisted. He hesitated before answering. The moment the call connected, a cold, artificial voice spilled into his ear. "Just ten days left... and I will steal her from you." The voice was mechanical, distant-but filled with menace. Then came the laughter. Sharp. Cruel. Inhuman. His hands clenched into fists. Jaw tightened. Teeth grinding. Who was this mysterious man? What that Mysterious man about to do? And worse... what did she is hiding from him and what his identity which maybe destroy their relationship? Because now, it was clear-Isha wasn't the only one being kept in the dark. Both of them were hiding something. ⠀⠀✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ Anirudha x isha Anisha

❝ Uss hawa mein ek nasha thha. ❞ Darshan looked down at the dizzying drops, nothing met his gaze but flat clouds, hiding the treasure of their landscape below. He lifted his camera and clicked the most breathtaking pictures, already envisioning them perfectly placed in his scrapbook. Armaan closed his eyes, feeling the wind caress his face, the faint rustle of leaves, and the distant chirping of birds. "We did it," Aarushi whispered to herself, while Arjun stood there smiling at her. His eyes held a glimmer of pride and joy, reflecting the same sense of achievement. Inaya ran her fingers through the little saplings that had managed to grow atop the rocky surface. Heer stood there smiling at them with watery eyes. She was not dreaming, it was all right in front of her eyes. In two strides he reached her, grabbed her arm, and turned her around sharply, pulling her into his arms. His arms locked around her trembling body as if he'd never let her go. "Jaan ho tum meri," He whispered harshly against her hair, hugging her tighter as she wept into his chest. *************** Three fucking years since she left. And yet, it feels like yesterday. I didn't stop her. I watched her pack. Silent. Cold. Pretending like I didn't care. Like her walking out of the door wasn't tearing something apart inside me. Maybe I thought if I didn't beg, if I didn't plead, I'd come off stronger. But all I did was let the only woman I ever loved slip through my fingers. And every goddamn day since, I've been living with that choice.

It ought to be one of the most memorable nights of her life, and rightfully it was. But in an unfathomable way. He slammed a hefty pile of paper over the wooden coffee table, with the words Terms & Conditions stretching across the A4 sheet of paper. Underlined and Bold. Underneath were uncountable bullet points, and microscopic letters that filled the whole paper. Perplexed, her tired eyes looked up at him. His usual stern look was smeared across his face, as he stood tall before her, in a tuxedo with his sleeves rolled up. She looked a little further, at his assistant, who was almost always around him, hugging a bunch of files or an iPad; his assistant turned away, avoiding the eye contacts. "One year. Maximum, two. Three Hundred Thousand a month", he utters and the look of sheer confusion on her face intensifies. "It's a contract, Navya ma'am", eventually, his assistant steps in. A contract? 300K a month? What the hell is happening on the night they got married? Her silence persists, and he let's out a loud sigh. "I'll pay you three lakh rupees to be my wife, but I'm not making any commitments", he blurts out and she stared at him, blankly for a whole moment, while her Sabyasachi bridal lehenga weighed down on her. "You work if you want. Stay home if you want. Go out in the middle of the night. Come back home whenever you want. It doesn't matter. I don't care who you're with, what you're doing and where you are. This marriage is nothing but a legal piece of paper. But whatever you do, the media shouldn't utter a word about us under the negative light. Everything I expect from you, I've written it down on the contract and every little thing here has a price".

He was the professor no one could ignore. She was the girl everyone overlooked. Professor Abhimanyu, 32, wasn't just another name on the faculty list...he was a presence. Known for his sharp mind, unmatched work ethic, and an aura of quiet authority, he taught Architectural Design like it was more than a subject... like it was a language of the soul. But he wasn't easy to keep. In just two years, he had already left two prestigious universities...never for better offers, but for something far more rare: his self-respect. He refused to compromise his dignity, no matter the cost. Then came Amrita. A final-year student. Always present, yet invisible. Always silent, yet full of unspoken thoughts. She wasn't the girl people noticed..she was the one they laughed at. The one who tried to fit in but somehow became the punchline instead. Shy. Introverted. "Boring," they called her. But they never really saw her. Because beneath that quiet exterior lived a mind that felt deeply, imagined endlessly, and observed everything. And yes... She had a crush on him. Just like many others. But unlike them, hers wasn't shallow admiration. It was something softer. Something deeper. She didn't just notice his looks, she noticed the way he spoke about design, the way he stood by his principles, the way he never pretended to be someone he wasn't. And maybe... he noticed something too. Not the loudest voice in class. Not the brightest attention-seeker. But the girl who stayed back, whose designs carried emotions no one else could draw, whose silence spoke louder than words. What happens when a man who values dignity above everything meets a girl who has never been valued at all? When admiration turns into understanding... When silence turns into connection... When two completely different worlds begin to align.. A story begins. Not loud. Not rushed. Not perfect. But real. Ranks - No.1 in Slowburn (24 feb 2025)
