Arthur had always thought that he was lucky like he had some sort of guardian angel. He never thought that the guardian angel watching over him was his clumsy oaf of a servant, Merlin. The king is dead, and Arthur has to take care of the kingdom and face some confessions that will change his relationship with his manservant in an unexpected way.

Merlin is Prince Arthur's servant like he has been for the past almost three years. However, the air between them changes gradually, and an unexpected romance is born. This is an alternate storyline where Gwen and Arthur never get married and Arthur doesn't die as young as he did. Takes place around the time period of Season 3, at a time when Morgana is evil but is still putting on the facade that she is good, but Merlin and Gaius know the truth, and Gwen is very suspicious. When Morgana captures Merlin in her hovel she curses him. Her plan is to make him kill Arthur, but when she realises who Merlin really is, her wishes to kill Arthur pales. Now she just have to make Arthur kill Merlin. (Takes place in the episode "A Servant of Two Masters")

The kingdom of Aeyland had just collapsed at the hands of Morgana. The letter explains that several knights are on a quest to find their King and Queen. As Arthur embarks on this journey with several knights from both his kingdom and the fallen, Arthur realizes something extraordinary. The kingdom has a lost prince. Winter falls on Camelot. It falls to Merlin to keep Arthur company as the search for Morgana becomes increasingly desperate. 6000 words, Merlin/Arthur. Set in the break between series 2 & 3. I had to make a judgement call on whether we’re dealing with Yule or Christmas in this Merlin verse. I went with Yule (there was reasoning, but I won’t bore you with it). After the battle of Camlann, Merlin manages to save Arthur, but what happens when they arrive to Camelot and find that the queen was dead? Everything goes exactly the same as in the show, except for a few changes. After the scene where Arthur says "Thank you" and supposedly dies, Merlin is able to still get him to the lake of Avalon in time to save him. Gwaine is also alive I do not own Merlin, any of the characters or the pictures, just the story
