Long ago, an attack on the Romano family, the biggest Mafia family in town, left a young girl blamed for her parents' deaths. Sent away for her own sake, she spends every moment reliving that awful day. After eight long years of suffering, she is led back to her brothers. But they don't want her there, and they make sure she knows it. Not long after she's reunited with her family, a faceless enemy takes up arms against the Romano family. And there is nothing Allora can do, except watch as the world burns around her, knowing she'll burn right alongside it. Until... maybe, just maybe, something changes, and Allora finds herself not quite so alone. ~~~ "You'll rot in hell for what you did, Allora." His voice echoes in my ear, his hot breath ghosting my skin. My hand falls limp over the side of the bed, the blood trickling down my finger is warm, almost soothing. Darkness takes me in it's familiar embrace. ~~~ Updates every Wednesday and Sunday

Her parents divorce was a messy, loud thing but she was too little to really get it. All she knew was her world got sliced in half. Mom took her, Dad took her brothers. Life became two separate tracks her mom's house on one side, her dad's on the other, with an invisible wall keeping them apart. For twelve years, she made it work. Her mom's place was cozy enough, with a stepdad who did his best, even if it wasn't always perfect. Her brothers faded into blurry memories, just faces from old photos. She got used to the split, the two different worlds. Then an accident flipped everything upside down. Her mom was gone, her stepdad was stuck in a hospital bed, and suddenly, she had to pack up and move in with her dad. But it wasn't the dad she remembered. He'd remarried, and his house was a whirlwind of four step siblings and her brothers, who weren't kids anymore. She wasn't that same little girl either. She figured it'd be about adjusting to a crowded house, maybe learning to get along with new people. But it turned out to be so much more unanswered questions, secrets everyone seemed to dodge, and the messy, confusing journey of figuring out who she was and who she wanted to be.

⚠️‼️READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS‼️⚠️ Kalani has mastered the art of silence - not by choice, but by survival. Selectively mute and carrying a past too broken to name, she's spent her life shielding her secrets behind wide eyes and trembling hands. After the brutal loss of her mother and years under the control of a relative whose name still haunts her, Kalani and her twin brother, Kaleb, have only ever had each other. Then the police find them. But instead of being sent into foster care - something that, strangely, never happened despite years of instability - they're told someone is coming to collect them. A man they've never met. A white man. He claims to be family. He says he's their legal guardian. And without warning, they're thrown into a cold, unfamiliar world of sharp suits, marble hallways, and older half-brothers who seem more like shadows than siblings. A world of wealth, power, and secrets that run deeper than blood. As Kalani tries to navigate this new life - where silence is no longer safe, and the past feels anything but gone - she begins to uncover the truth behind her family, her father, and a legacy far more dangerous than she ever imagined. Some bonds are forged in love. Others in pain. And some? Some are written in blood. They thought they were escaping their past. But what if it just changed its face? Read 'SECRETS OF THE MUTE' and find out the story of Kalani.

She was their little princess, and her life was supposed to be like that of a princess. However, that was not the life for little Isabella, and instead she had been followed by almost never-ending misfortunes since the day she was born. Can they still continue to be a family despite spending years forgetting what the word family means?

Adeline Jade had always been alone. She had no father to call her "princess," no mother to hold her, no grandparents to cherish her, and no siblings to play with. She wandered through a world determined to isolate her, wrapped in a loneliness that filled every empty room and silent night. Loneliness was all she had ever known, her only constant companion. But this was about to change, though she had no idea that her life was going to change. Soon, the universe would disrupt her quiet life. Shadows from a past she didn't know existed were closing in, bringing both new connections and painful truths. Adeline was about to discover a hidden world, one that could either fulfill her deepest desires or bring her great sorrow. I cannot express enough how tired I am of reading the same story about the missing daughter of mafia again and again. Its frustrating. I want something new to read, and if I can't find it, what's better than writing it yourself? I don't want anything that you see in every story ever.

Every young girl dreams of becoming a princess someday, right? Wrong! That wasn't my dream- far from it! I dreamt of a day where, upon reaching my eighteenth birthday, I could finally escape my neglectful "parents" who only acknowledged me when it suited them. But all that changed when I learned my 'parents' had been arrested on drug charges, and an unknown side of my 'family' had been looking for me since before I had even been born. Enter Mr. Castellucci and his seven sons, and I quickly understood why Maria had never mentioned a previous marriage or her other 'children.' These men were not the dashing princes riding white horses; they were dark, imposing, and intimidating figures. And Mr. Castellucci was determined to take me back with him to his lavish home somewhere in Italy -so far from my comparatively uncomplicated life in New Haven, Connecticut - and begin building my new life there with them. Although wary that these men had a more nefarious and sinister reason for taking a sudden interest in me than being a 'long-lost family member', they were doing an excellent job of easing me into a false sense of security by treating me like their long-awaited 'Principessa'. Desperate for their love and approval, while struggling with my inadequacies and haunted past, I was naïvely unaware of their ruthless nature and sheer power. I did not realise the scope of their 'charm' until it was too late. Far too late. Until I was precisely where they wanted me: under their thumb and control, with no prospects of ever escaping them as Maria had done before me, I was nothing more than a bird locked in a gilded cage, that they had deviously led me to believe was the price of love and safety. Let it be said once and for all: The Italian mafia did not ask; they took what they deemed as theirs to take. And I was THEIRS. _______________ This is my dark, twisted take on the popular Mafia, Older Brothers/Younger Sister, and Lost/Found Daughter/Sister tropes.
