A group of teenagers, a maze, what could possibly go wrong? Well pretty much everything when you are trapped in one that is filled with monsters which only want to kill you, or precisely tear you apart. Inside that maze, the boys aren't what you would usually think of teenage boys, they are smart, organized and work with each other. They don't fall into anarchy, they use their surroundings to be sure to survive even the hardest challenges, which are to fight against the monsters of the maze, known as the grievers. The glade, their home, strictly follow three rules, essential for the integrity and safety of all of them. First, never go out into the maze unless you are a runner. This rule has been created to ensure everyone who wouldn't be able to run as fast as Minho, the runner's leader, think was safe, would stay in the maze and not risk their lives unnecessarily. Second, never hurt another glader. This rule was created to keep the gladers safe within the walls, making sure that no one would fight as they did when they first arrived, and that everyone would be cooperative and okay with one another. Last, everyone does their part, no slacker. This rule was made to be sure that everyone had an utility inside the glade, and wouldn't stay all day just looking at a wall, waiting for the day to end. But those rules revealed themselves as useless when a boy named Thomas appeared in the glade, disrupting the entire organization of the glade and slowly destroying the peace in it, revealing secrets they weren't waiting for.
