You have had to lay low all your life to try and keep off the shadowhunters radar because of ... what your family did in the past. The one thing that has been on your mind since your family died is to find out what they did that made them so bad. Even if it throws your life into chaos and you trash what is left of your life.

Jonathan Morgenstern was supposed to be dead. This is my first attempt at creating a full-scale fan fiction series of epic proportions based off of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments. I strongly urge you to read the material if you haven't already and wish to know what's going on. I first began writing my fan fiction shortly after City of Heavenly Fire (CoHF) just came out. So, just for simplicity sake, other than an occasional reference to Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy, I try to treat all other work of fiction by Cassandra Clare as if it doesn't exist (ie. The Dark Artifices). The entire series I am writing focuses mainly on the character Jonathan Morgenstern. This is my version of what would happen if he hadn't have died at the end of CoHF. It is a redemption saga. My story borrows from the last few chapters of CoHF in The Mortal Instruments book series and carries on from there. Although I love and appreciate how she handled the ending, I just loved this character so much that I had to give him a second chance at life!
