It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Most survivors live in hidden cities, avoiding the ancient ruined cities at all costs. But not Jace and his crew. As a group of Stray Humans, they've made the decaying cities their home, roaming the forgotten streets, never staying in one place for long, and bringing all their skills to the table. They are a family, working together to make sure those things, Aliens, never take another human as long as they are near. When the aliens of A.C.R. (Animal Care and Rescue) find a new group of humans wandering the ruins of a large city, they think it will be an easy capture. But they soon learn that these particular humans have more willpower than most. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets. No matter the cost. Warning - This story may have -Self harm -Rape -Abuse -Suicidal thoughts and actions -Violence and gore -Uncomfortable scenes (If this isn't your first alien pet book, you know what I'm talking about)

It was meant to be a mission of hope, a new dawn for humankind. The United Earth Star Ship Dominance carried explorers, soldiers, families-a city among the stars, a symbol of unity forged from the ashes of Earth's past divisions. Their destination was Andromeda, a promise of discovery beyond imagination. But in the darkness of space, something stirred. The voyage that began as humanity's brightest dream twisted into silence and shadow. Cryogenic pods shattered, corridors fell empty, and the flagship drifted off course into a future no one could have foreseen. What awoke in the void was not wonder, but a presence-unseen, unspoken, yet waiting. Now, Lieutenant Dagr Magnusson must face the ruins of three million light years years, guided only by Helena, the ship's flawed AI, and haunted by whispers of a force that does not belong to humankind. What began as a journey of exploration becomes a struggle against the unknown, as hope itself is swallowed by the dark. This story can also be found on Royal Road

[ONC ROUND ONE WINNER: 4th place] When he discovers his husband has been replaced, an android hunter must find the impostor in time to rescue the man he loves. SynTracker is one half of a duology of novellas. Both follow the same sequence of events from different PoVs. SynTracker is Ian's tale; BioSynth is Quentin's. Collectively, they're known as Syn. ≡≡≡ Ian Morgan is a man who does the wrong job for the right reasons. Honour-bound to keep the streets safe, Ian is a SynTracker: someone whose job is to hunt down BioSynths - obsolete yet incredibly dangerous synthetic self-aware weapons - and return them to the government, to be reprogrammed and repurposed. It'd be an easier task if they hadn't been programmed to mimic reactions that allow them to pass as humans, complete with tears. Deeply in love with Quentin, his husband of eight years, Ian's home life more than makes up for the work that wears him down. But a car crash that could have killed Quentin reveals a shocking truth: his husband has been replaced by a BioSynth. With the impostor on the loose, Ian must now Track it, knowing he needs to comb its memories for any clue regarding Quentin's whereabouts - if he's even alive. ≡≡≡ SynTracker was written for the Open Novella Contest 2021 and is based on prompt #4: You're a weapon, and weapons don't weep. It features a romance between two men. ≡≡≡ ONC Round One Winner: 4th Place Speculative Fiction Awards, Utopia/Distopia: Runner-Up R4R Awards, Sci-Fi: 2nd Place

After an attack on his village, by his own kingdoms army nonetheless, Asman is injured and stolen by a group of people. Their armor and swords are akin to those he had seen very rarely; Isadrenian soldiers. The kingdoms of Felias and Isadren had long been at war and it had been force fed to the children of Felias that those who came from the north were barbarians and in league with the dark doings of magic. Asman never believed them and after seeing who the group were and what they truly believed, there was no doubt in his mind that Isadren was not the kingdom to blame. Along with learning more about Isadren and its people, Asman also learns about himself; who he loves and what inside him has been held back by years of fear. ________________ This story lays heavily on the side of fantasy, but also holds a bit of connection to the real world in things such as Religion and Climate. This story also includes: Gay Relationships/ People, POC characters, Homophobic Notions (but no actual abuse or slurs), and of course, ~Magic~. *First Draft, but readable* Enjoy!! :):)

Thousands of centuries ago humans, vampires, and werewolves lived together in harmony, considering one equal to the other. Ruled by a council of three kings, with one from each fullblood race, peace endured for quite some time. All of it was destroyed when many years later the new vampire and werewolf kings both wanted to rule over the kingdom alone. A massive war broke out between the vampires and the werewolves and millions of lives were lost. In a last attempt to stop the war one hundred years later, the land was divided into three kingdoms, the vampires, humans and werewolves. The borders were shut, crossbreeding was forbidden since it created halfbloods and demons and each kingdom was led by the king of their respective race. In secret, however, it was decided that the human king would watch over them all to prevent another war from ever happening again. Since the human kingdom laid inbetween the other two, the humans invented technology to keep all the races at bay and trained the warriors of their army as skilled hunters. As time and generations went by, the kingdoms became more isolated and the common humans forgot that supernatural beings even existed. However, the war had never truly been resolved so the hatred that the vampires and werewolves had for each other endured. When a mysterious murder occurs, chaos breaks out within the kingdoms. A throne must be taken, blood must be shed, a choice must be made and all must be answered by a girl with purple eyes.
