Her family is apathetic to her emotions, with the exception of her older sister Maria. Alexei, the crown prince, lives in constant fear of bleeding to death, as hemophilia takes the last male heir to the Romanov dynasty. Meanwhile, the Bolsheviks have been gaining power, and their secret soldiers are posted everywhere in Moscow.
