"You aren't the only one who can bite, love. Did you forget that?" I tensed, feeling his breath against the exposed flesh of my neck. "Don't-" "Why shouldn't I? You seem to have an issue understanding where you are right now." My hands began to shake as I felt his fangs scrap against my neck, sharp and almost ticklish. "I know you aren't stupid, Esma. You know what I'm capable of and yet you continue to test me. You are lucky that I am a very, very, patient man." I'd never been bit before but I knew it was excruciating. I braced myself for the pain, clenching my eyes shut, heaving in breaths that I tried to control but was too weak to do so. "I can feel your heart going a hundred miles a minute. Are you excited or afraid?" "Excited to be bitten by a vampire?" Aspen's teeth slowly dragged against my neck again, my tongue going dry. "You never know. Some humans find it enjoyable, but they're the ones who like pain. You remind me of them Esma, a little pain whore."

When the prince of the enemy realm visits her on Earth, Ayzel has to return to a world ruled by light, darkness, and hatred, in her lifelong quest for justice, revenge, and, most importantly, power. Ayzel is in exile. Caged among humans, she has found a way to survive in their strange world. Locking the memories of her old life away, so she can fight to stay alive in this one. That is, until the prince from the realm of night comes to remind her of her heritage. Ayzel has to find her path away from imprisonment and back to Antaliya, the land that shunned her for her powerlessness. Betrayed, wounded, barely hanging on to her sanity, but never broken. She knows the stakes. But she takes the risk. If only so that the world will finally see her for what she is. Quote from chapter twenty: { I give the king a kind smile. That of a lady. A courtier. The person I was taught to be. He returns it, but I catch the mistake immediately. I can see the lie in his. Disappointing, really. All those years as a ruler and he never learnt to pretend his kindness properly. Fool. His eyes trail from my face, to my hands, to my abdomen, down to my legs. I would be uncomfortable, had I not known what it was he was looking at. "If it's of any consolation, your Majesty, most of the blood is not mine." }

GENERAL'S BRIDE Genre: Psycho-Thriller • Dark Romance • Blood & Gore • Forced Marriage • Mature • Adult Calixto Joaquin Ferrer-once a decorated military general, now the ruthless head of a global syndicate-rules both the underworld and the corporate empire of Devon Enterprise with an iron hand. To the world, he is a cold, disciplined CEO. In the shadows, he is a predator feared by criminals themselves. His mother wants only one thing from him: A wife. A grandchild. A legacy. Calixto finds it ridiculous-until he sees Angela Samañiego again. His childhood obsession. His first trauma. His twisted, unfinished love. But she is no longer the modest, gentle girl he once claimed as his own. Angela now rides a motorcycle like she owns the night, wears clothes that test his sanity, and pops lollipops like she doesn't care whom she tempts. She is reckless, untamed, and too wild for her own good. And Calixto decides- If the world changed her, he will change her back. By force, if necessary. The Ferrer and Samañiego families have always been intertwined, their fathers best friends since youth. So when Calixto asks for Angela's hand, her father agrees instantly... despite Stella, Angela's younger sister, who shamelessly desires Calixto for herself. Angela doesn't want marriage. She doesn't want a man like him. She says it will never work. Calixto does not care. He wants her. He will have her. And no sister, no refusal, no rebellion will stop him. Until Angela wakes up one morning- naked, bruised, and lying in Calixto's bed... with a wedding ring on her finger. Confused. Trapped. Bound to a man whose love is as dangerous as his enemies. Calixto calls it destiny. Angela calls it hell. And between bloodshed, obsession, and a war of hearts, neither of them will come out the same. A dark romance where love is possession, desire is a weapon, and a general will burn the world just to keep his bride.

She wakes up in a stranger's bed, a diamond ring glimmering on her finger - a symbol of promises she cannot remember - a vow forged in a past that's been stolen from her. Everyone says she's fortunate. That she's blessed. That a beautiful home, a devoted fiancé, and a spotless future await her. But when her pulse falters under his gentle touch... when her skin shivers instead of warming - something deep within resonates with the alarming feeling that something is profoundly, dangerously wrong. He insists it's for her own safety - that something awful happened, that healing simply takes time - but there's a fire in his eyes, a possessiveness he cannot mask. And somewhere in her mind, a locked box rattles against its chains. And at night, in the quiet... she dreams of another man she does not recognize. Until one day he steps out of the shadows. Not with flowers, but with fire, with danger, with a confession forged in the pure agony of a love forgotten. Not with comfort, but with a storm in his eyes and a voice that trembles when he says- "You promised to remember me," he whispers. "Even if the whole world made you forget." He is not kind. He is not patient. His love is wild - a consuming force - a sin that feels more elemental than redemption. The moment he reaches for her, the carefully woven lie starts to unravel, thread by thread, until the awful, beautiful truth emerges. She doesn't know his name. But her soul does. Now, stranded between two men - the man who offers refuge within a perfect illusion and the man who holds the key to a catastrophic reality - she must make a choice. To stay safely oblivious... or to break free and remember the life that was stolen from her. Because someone made sure she forgot. And they'll do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Some truths are dangerous - and some memories are worth everything.

The world had gone to hell long ago, taken over by the vampire race. In order to keep some sort of peace in our land, the Vampire Lords made a consecutive agreement. The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they had been, untouched by the vampires save for the occasional blood collections, or so they thought In reality, we were all under their control. Castles spread out throughout our land, one landing in each city. Each castle varied in the number of vampires residing there, but all of them carried a Lord. The Lords were the ones in charge in every city, whether we liked it or not. The vampires often roam through the city, making sure that everyone was in order and no one stepped out of line. If you stepped out of line, you died, end of story. Even if the rich were still under their control, their lives were still better than the poor. The poorest lives held a much worse fate. The men were to be put to work as slaves, whether that meant serving a specific vampire, or just building their castles, they were slaves. The women were to be pets. Pets were the lowest rank you could have. They were forced into cages that were too small to stand in with collars around their necks. They spent their lives in pet shops, just waiting for the dreadful day that they'll be bought. They were treated like animals, trained into what their master wanted, and punished if they misbehaved. Those who were lucky enough to live through that, we're to be slaughtered for their blood at age twenty-five in an act to make sure that our population would stay steady. I was born into this world. Born into this world full of blood-sucking monsters. Except, I was one of the lucky ones. Was. It all ended for me when I was 12, when I was taken away from the last bit of hope and family that I had left. Ever since then, I've lived in a cage, just rotting away, waiting, dreading for the day that some monster would make me his. This is my life. I am a pet. ~~~ Cover by: @mshacake
