During a battle, Macaque gets injured, the group does not yet trust Macaque and is still skeptical so they leave the monkey king to watch over him, not only to make sure he is well healed but also so he doesn't run off or do anything destructive. The healing process is slow and painful, it hurts to even use his power. He finds himself unable to even move from his bed some morning. On the verge of death, Sun Wukong is worried for his ex-best friend.

"You were never supposed to see them! I should've burned those letters when I had the chance!" Macaque screamed, his eyes were clear with rage and he snarled deeply at his formal enemy and ex lover, Sun Wukong. Wukong's nose scrunched up and he inhaled deeply as he glared at Macaque. "I'm glad you didn't." ---------------------------------------------------- One late night, MK accidentally stumbles into Macaque's lair. What he found was one of the last things he would've expected. Letters. Letters from the past. Most were from Macaque to Sun Wukong, but they were never sent. Only a few were from the Monkey King. But before MK could get a better look, Macaque just so happened to show up. Macaque and Monkey King have been trying to bond together again by doing an activity together every day. Today they were meditating to restore their energy after an intense training session while the rest of the gang hang out on Flower Fruit Mountain. Until a demon decided to attack the mountain and MK and Mei forcefully woke Macaque and Monkey King from their meditation in desperation...
