The ninja set out to go on a dangerous mission at the Torchfire Mountain, an active volcano located at Ninjago's Sea of Sand. Cole has lost so much in his life. But he never imagined his life could get any more exciting and difficult at the same time. After one eventful night, Cole and the ninja go on a brand new adventure, deep into the Dark Island in hopes of bringing something, or someone back after all these years. While on their journey, he finds deep feelings for a certain ninja in red, and a prophecy that will change his life.

After years of nothing, chaos broke in Ninjago City. Citizens have mysteriously gone missing, leaving the ninja in confusion. Weeks passed of this crisis, making the saviors feel useless, not being able to find a lead. Police have scouted the streets day in, day out, and alongside the ninja who traveled in shadows and atop rooftops. Their last adventure seemed to create consequences they never thought would snowball into something big. As a new force arises, the ninja struggle to keep up with the problems caused by their successful mission before, and the trouble being created by yet another villain.
