She fell from one world into another. The fall was only the beginning.
After Warwick sends Vi falling to her death in the final battle for Piltover, she wakes not in heaven or hell, but in the white void of Janna-the ancient guardian spirit of Zaun. Janna's judgment is swift and cruel: Vi is guilty of letting her love for Caitlyn and Jinx blind her while the undercity burned. Her sentence is not death, but rebirth.
Vi opens her eyes as an infant in Red Sector, a prison asteroid where living to age ten is considered a miracle. Her mother disappears. Her dying father, Tone, teaches her to fight, to look people in the eye, and to never break. When Tone sacrifices himself to buy Vi's escape, she flees into a lawless galaxy with Dared-a quiet, terrifying boy who killed two guards with a toothbrush and carries the weight of being the Warden's son.
Together, they assemble a crew of broken survivors: Sova, a disgraced pilot; Wren, a young engineer whose sister is held hostage; Ash, a hollow-eyed woman who escaped the Vexari but may be leading them into a trap. Their goal is Heimerdinger, the inventor from Piltover who holds the key to closing the Rift-a purple-black tear in space that is bleeding between universes.
But the Rift is not a wound. It is a door. And something ancient is trying to come through.
As Vi closes one Rift, another opens. A fleet of Nazi ships-ideology given flesh, scavengers of dead civilizations-hunts her across the stars. And Ash reveals herself as a vessel for something older than Janna, something that has killed every Riftwalker before Vi.
To survive, Vi must become more than human. To sa theve her new family, she must choose to stay in a universe that was never meant to be her home.
