It has been weeks since the prophecy had been fulfilled, and Fontaine had been having constant rain. Wriothesley hasn't been outside the Fortress of Meropide since the prophecy, and has gotten barely any communication. When he decides to go out one day, it's raining. And he is greeted by a teary eyed Iudex Neuvillette. They have tea together, and everything seems to goes back to normal. But Wriothesley undergoes bad injuries and is taken in by Neuvillette, discovering something that isn't so simple. While he heals by Neuvillette, they start to grow close. An assassination attempt forces Neuvillette and Wriothesley to work together. But the case ends up getting a lot more complicated than they had thought it would. And so does their feelings towards each other.
