The first legend. Also known, as the legend... Of The Watchmaker... The legend goes, that the Watchmaker was the FIRST Time Lord, the oldest being on Gallifrey, who taught the others of his kind how to become like him, with the Watchmaker even rising to become the first Lord President. From there, Gallifrey SHINED. The Watchmaker grew the very first TARDIS, engineered the very IDEA of Time Travel, and became one with the Time Vortex itself. It is said that he was granted visions by the Time Vortex, allowing him to see into the future and the past, using only his eyes... Eventually, the Watchmaker's ambitions grew beyond Gallifrey, and he sought to take to the stars, seeking to learn and understand the importance and value of life itself... Unfortunately for him, three of his fellow Time Lords grew envious, and imprisoned him in a Time Locked box beneath Arcadia, where he would be confined to his first regeneration, and forgotten, with his work and achievements instead being credited to the one who orchestrated the coup...Rassilon... But the legend says that The Watchmaker was smart, and that he kept inventing and creating, biding his time, and that when the Time War came, The Watchmaker...broke free of his prison... Of course, no one truly believes that the Watchmaker really existed, and that he was instead made up to inspire the young of Gallifrey to do their best.
