The Major Sins --Al-Kaba'r-- The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Quran and by His Messenger (SAW) in the Sunnah (practise of the Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (SAW). Allah Most High says in His Glorious Book: If you avoid the major (part) of what you have been forbidden (to do), We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and will admit you (to Paradise) with a noble entry. (al-Nisa 4:31) Thus by this verse, Allah Most High has guaranteed the Garden of Paradise to those who avoid the major sins. And Allah Most High also says: Those who avoid the greatest of sins and indecencies, and forgive when they are angry (al-Shra 42:37) Those who avoid the greatest sins and indecencies, except for oversights, (will find that) surely your Lord is ample in forgiveness. (Al-Najm 53:32)

There are many stories about Islam on the net and web, in the news and being told from many perspectives but what we see is not the same as what we experience which is why today, I will take a step forward and try to teach you a bit more about Islam. Islam is not all about power, Islam is not about weapons or hate or love.

The story goes that one day Ali - may Allah be pleased him - noticed that his wife Fatimah -may Allah be pleased with her - had in her hand an 'Ood al-Arak, also known by the name: Siwaak سِواك and she was using it (For those of you who don't know, a Siwaak سِواك back then was their equivalent of our toothbrush nowadays. It is made from the branches of Al-'Araak tree شَجَرُ الأَراك). So he decided to flirt with her saying: قد فُزتَ يا عودَ الأَراكِ بثغْرِها *** ما خِفتَ يا عودَ الأراكِ أراكا You even got, oh 'Ood al-Arak, to reach her mouth! *** Were you not afraid, oh 'Ood al-Arak, that I'll see you!? ولو كُنْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِ القتالِ قتلتُك *** ما فازَ منِّي يا سواكُ سواك Had you been of the people that fight, I would have killed you! No one has been able to defeat me, oh Siwaak, except for you!. The true lover and poet, is the one following and preserving the laws of Allaah!
