And every time, her heart betrayed her; racing, stumbling, fluttering like a caged butterfly chasing a memory. Her breath shortened, her chest tightened, and still, she said nothing. Because it wasn't her place. Because she was never meant to be seen. Until she was. Until the day she stood before him, not as a stranger in the crowd, but as his bride. The wrong bride. He had seen her before. Once in passing, her eyes barely a flicker in his peripheral vision, dismissed for a prettier pair. The second time, he saw her through a vow sealed in blood and duty. And rage erupted. Exacting. Demanding. She wasn't supposed to wear that dress. She wasn't supposed to carry his name. But now that she does... There's no turning back.

He wasn't supposed to touch her. Yet here she was in his arms, held like she belonged there, like she had never been meant to stand anywhere else. "Put me down..." Arohi whispered, her voice trembling despite the strength she tried to hold on to. Her hands pressed lightly against his chest, a weak attempt to create distance, but his grip only tightened, not enough to hurt, just enough to remind her that he wasn't letting go. "You still think you have a choice?" His voice was calm, almost soft, but something darker lingered beneath it, something that made her breath hitch. She looked up at him, and what she saw in his eyes wasn't anger or care, it was something far more dangerous. Something that didn't ask. Something that claimed. Years ago, he had left without a word. Everyone thought it was his choice. But the truth was, he left to protect her from himself, from the way his gaze lingered too long, from the darkness inside him that whispered her name like a sin. He thought distance would bury it, that time would erase it. But obsession doesn't fade. It waits. It grows in silence. And now he was back. Standing too close, holding her too tightly, looking at her like he had already crossed a line she didn't even know existed. "I did that once," he said quietly. "Let you go." His hold tightened just slightly. "Not again." In that moment, Arohi understood something she should have realized the second he walked back into her life. He didn't come back to stay. He came back because he couldn't stay away. Because the darkness he once ran from now wanted her. Not gently. Not safely. But completely.

She was so shocked that she could only say, "Devyansh? Shivali? This... this all???" Devyansh lowered his gaze and, holding the hand of the girl standing next to him, said, "We... we got married. Shivali and I love each other, and Shivali is going to be the mother of my child." Not only had her husband married someone else today, but he was also about to become a father. This meant... this meant he must have been deceiving her for an unknown amount of time, while she foolishly believed that her husband loved her. "What? What do you mean?", Trishvika asked, shocked. Devyansh said, "I didn't want to spend my entire life with a woman who couldn't even give me a child in two years." "And what about me? My life, my decisions?", Trishvika questioned. Devyansh, sitting comfortably on the sofa, said, "Divorce papers. Sign these divorce papers and leave, Ashvi!" Hearing this, whatever little emotions were left inside Trishvika died instantly, and all the second thoughts she had while signing the divorce papers vanished. Without any emotion, she signed the papers and threw them at Devyansh, saying, "I don't need your money or your name anymore. I'm leaving now, but I will come back, Devyansh Rana! To take revenge for the injustice done to me. I will come back to destroy you. Just wait for that day." And then, without looking at anyone, she walked towards the door.

#MAFIA_SERIES 🔥 Aanya, stop," Adwait said, his voice slightly louder now, laced with warning. She could see it-he was about to snap. Yes, yes, now he'll lose it, she thought, a thrill sparking in her chest. But instead of reacting with anger, Adwait simply leaned back in the chair, eyes locked on hers. Then, without a word, he began to unbutton his shirt-slowly, deliberately-each movement exaggerated, until he yanked it off and tossed it aside. Aanya's eyes widened. Her jaw dropped. Shock flooded her face. "Ahhh! Shameless!" she shouted, spinning on her heel and making a dash for it. But he was faster. Adwait stood in a flash, reached out, and caught her wrist mid-stride. She turned, her hand already balled into a fist, aiming straight for his face. But he caught it mid-air. In one smooth motion, he twirled her under his arm like a dancer, then leaned in and pressed a bold kiss to her left cheek. Her mouth dropped open again-outrage, disbelief, and something else flickering in her eyes. She didn't hesitate. This time she lifted her knee, aiming for his stomach, but he caught her leg with ease. Sliding one arm under her knee and the other around her waist, he bent her slightly backward in a dramatic dip. Before she could wriggle free, he kissed her right cheek. Then-thud. He let go. Aanya landed squarely on the floor, right on her backside. Crossing his arms over his bare chest, Adwait looked down at her, a smug smile playing on his lips. "You lost," he said. __________________
