Y/N L/N has been in Hurrican Utah for about seven months now, she was finishing up grade ten at the time but now will be going into grade eleven in fall of '83. Her and her mom are neighbours with the Aftons but she didn't know them really well but Y/N's mother was good friends with Mrs. Afton (Clara Afton), so sometimes Y/N and M/N would both stop in to say hello, Y/N knew Michael but wouldn't really have a full conversation when Y/N and M/N would stop by, Michael just knew Y/ N since they would run in to each other late at night when they would sneak out and have a smoke or whatever, that's when they would actually have a conversation but they didn't go to the same high school until Michael got expelled and had to switch to Y/N's school since there was no other option 

Y/n and her dad decided to move to Hurricane, Utah and leave their shity hometown for a fresh start and besides the school that y/n would be going to would have a better basketball program then her old school, Plus y/n's dad got a better job to!
