Leo thought he'd paid Nemesis back. Percy and Annabeth had fallen into Tartarus. He'd died without fulfilling his oath to Calypso then had to come back to life for her. I'd been the seventh wheel as Nemesis had said, watching others suffer and be helped by their loved ones while he just suffered on his own. He'd pretended he was OK when he was dying on the inside. His prized creation that he'd spent months on, the Argo II, broke. He died at OCTAVIAN'S hand. If Octavian hadn't fired the onager, he wouldn't've needed the physician's cure. He could've given it to another demigod that had died. And OCTAVIAN killed him. That was flat-out EMBARRASSING, to die at the hands of THAT scrawny excuse for a demigod. But NOPE!
