Immediately following the events of The Last Jedi, the battle for the galaxy continues between the First Order and the last of the Resistance. As the new Supreme Leader takes the throne, the First Order is focused on finding and destroying all who oppose them. The Resistance had disappeared into hiding and desperation has forced them to explore the gray areas of war. Meanwhile, on opposite sides of the war, Rey and Kylo Ren are forced to face the realities of their bond, their complicated relationship, their loyalty to their causes, and their understanding of the Force. Could their star-crossed connection be tied to the fate of the galaxy? This is a slow burn! Enemies to friends to lovers. This story continues the arcs and themes beautifully woven through The Last Jedi, as well as the narrative from the previous two trilogies. All plot elements are intended to be canon-compliant through TLJ. This is 100% complete. It was completed in December 2019 on A03 before The Rise of Skywalker was released, so this is not a "fix-it" fic as much as an alternative to Episode IX. This is a dark story. - 2th in Reylo Fanfic! (5/19/18)- Ben lives in a palace that couldn't be any finer, but he isn't happy there. He wants to help his soon to be people and when he gets in an argument with his mother, Leia Organa, about marriage he runs away. He wants to marry for love, not be just another king worried about his wealth and only his health. Ben poses as a begger, but runs into trouble in the make shift streets of Jakku and is saved by a young scavenger named Rey. Rey offers him shelter and he stays with her, learning about Jakku through her eyes, but leaves her when he hears of his father, Han Solo, becoming ill. Ben returns to the palace and informs his father of his new info and his father deems him ready to be the new King. Will Ben be able to make Rey is Queen against his mother's wishes and the law? Will Rey even want to be queen after finding out who Ben really is after he has lied to her then abandon her?

The darkness runs through Rey and she can feel it. What will she do? Will she follow that path and become the greatest sith that ever lived? Or will she become the greatest Jedi that ever lived? Ben has been neglected his whole life and at twenty-two, he has followed in the footsteps of his uncle and is the defending world champion boxer for two years. But although he seems to have it all, he is cold and distant from everyone. Until he meets her... Rey. Grew up a scavenger on the streets since she was five. Scrappy and witty she doesn't take any crap from anyone nor does she allow herself to get close with anyone either. The only people she is remotely close with are her friends Finn and Poe. Rey finds herself in recurring street fights, and she loves the fight. What she doesn't know is how lonely she really is and that all changes when she meets him... Rey is sent by General Organa on an important mission to infiltrate the First Order from within, feed helpful information to the General and bring Ben Solo home. In order for the mission to succeed, Rey has to do something she never imagined herself doing.
