He turns to me quickly, a little soap sloshing to the floor. I look up at him, fast. There's nothing else on the entire base other than me and him. Everything else is just background noise. "Give up, Red." "Never." He backs me into the counter, pinning me, the distance between us closing rapidly. When he's this close, less than a foot away, I really wonder just how tall he actually is. Much taller than me. The counter bites my back as his words press closer than his body. I feel a shiver ripple through me from the warmth falling in waves off his chest.
