Sandrine has devoted her life to the Order of Charon, an organisation responsible for countless deaths. After almost a decade of faithful service, she is given a mission which forces her to question the very purpose of the Order and her place within it. "Abhorrent Practices" is a fantasy adventure, which examines the issue of assisted suicide. That's not why you should read it though. You should read it because it's fun, too. This is the story of a caveman but it is also the story of an executive. They occur a million years apart but they are the same story. Only the circumstances of their environment is different. These two have a similar beginning in life but they waste the opportunities they were born with. Can they get by in this world without their comfortable life and family? Can they achieve their goal in life? Who said man has evolved? Basic instincts are the same, find the best mate you can to produce children to pass on your genes. What lengths would you go to, to pass on your genes? A million years ago it was all about who was the biggest and strongest. Today it is has evolved. Have you noticed that we have stopped getting bigger and stronger. Now days it is the smart that are more attractive as money replaces brute strength as the power that women desire. Sure some will women will argue a good body is more important but when push comes to shove they will opt for the one who can take care of their babies the best. In this day and age that is the rich one. Of course this grand plan all falls into ruin when love raises its ugly (or pretty) head. Common sense and even basic instincts are cast aside.

What terrible lives we lead. Our fate is not decided by our actions or even heritage, rather it us cursed with sins at birth who must suffer in the slums. Our city is divided by those born under the wings of the cardinal sins and those born under the holy virtues. The slums are overrun with gangs who operate under those who completely turn themselves over to their sins in return for power. What of me, you ask? Well, perhaps you've heard the tales of a thief who steals the hearts of girls along with their riches. My life may not be that of the virtuous upon the hills, but I can at least say that I ride upon the turbulence of my occupation.

“Who we are, and the purpose that binds us, has been observed and misinterpreted by many over time. These people saw us as exotic, powerful, and dangerous. They weren’t wrong. But that’s because they could never understand where our power comes from or why we have it. So eventually we became feared and then marginalized. We had to learn to blend in. We live as humans do now.” When Eoin travels to his hometown in rural Ireland, he thinks it’s just a short visit between getting his degree and a brilliant future. But the people back home have other ideas. They claim him as a member of an order that he's been destined to join since birth. Confusion and disbelief quickly turn to horror when Eoin learns what he is now expected to do, and the lengths they are willing to go to make sure that he does. Eoin escapes to New York, only to find himself face to face with the very thing he desperately tried to avoid. Niamh is counting down the days until she graduates high school and starts college in Ireland. She is eager to leave her small New Jersey town behind, but she has no idea how big her world is about to become. When she happens to meet Eoin one night in New York City, the connection hurls them both into the center of a conflict that spans time and space. Together, they learn how truly powerful knowledge can be. When the full force of that power is turned against them, they must find a way to overcome things they cannot understand. As the shadowy figures of myth wreak some very real havoc on their modern lives, failure means death for one and devastation for the other, but neither can foresee the epic implications of their struggle.

Get out your popcorn, tourists beware, here comes a paranormal adventure with a historical twist, set in Egypt--and Britain. From Chapter 29 'Darkness': 'Did I just try to dive into that goo to get at a dead guy?' Trueth asked. Define dead,' Metjen said with a half-smile. He muttered something and touched Trueth on the forehead. The rest of her giddiness faded away--only to return as Metjen crushed her in one of his bearhugs. 'For a moment I thought we would lose you. Don't do that again.' Trueth's cheeks burned. That could only be the caffeine. The stuff had never agreed with her. 'It wasn't my idea, there was a voice in my head!' *** Trueth hates being the last paranormal creature left on Earth. She needn't worry: On a trip to Egypt she runs into Metjen Al-Nour, magical member in the last temple of the sun god Ra. With sparks flying between them--not only those of the magical variety--they solve a 5000-year-old riddle where clues are literally buried in tombs, historical sites--as well as in the family safe. But their journey is far from over - where other stories end, this one really takes off... . The second novel in the trilogy, 'Cursed Times - Only Yesterday!', is completed, and 'In My Attic' - a spin-off to the world of Cursed Times is available with weekly updates. === Copyright information, given the recent acts of content piracy: All copyrights of the texts are mine exclusively.
