He was the professor no one could ignore. She was the girl everyone overlooked. Professor Abhimanyu, 32, wasn't just another name on the faculty list...he was a presence. Known for his sharp mind, unmatched work ethic, and an aura of quiet authority, he taught Architectural Design like it was more than a subject... like it was a language of the soul. But he wasn't easy to keep. In just two years, he had already left two prestigious universities...never for better offers, but for something far more rare: his self-respect. He refused to compromise his dignity, no matter the cost. Then came Amrita. A final-year student. Always present, yet invisible. Always silent, yet full of unspoken thoughts. She wasn't the girl people noticed..she was the one they laughed at. The one who tried to fit in but somehow became the punchline instead. Shy. Introverted. "Boring," they called her. But they never really saw her. Because beneath that quiet exterior lived a mind that felt deeply, imagined endlessly, and observed everything. And yes... She had a crush on him. Just like many others. But unlike them, hers wasn't shallow admiration. It was something softer. Something deeper. She didn't just notice his looks, she noticed the way he spoke about design, the way he stood by his principles, the way he never pretended to be someone he wasn't. And maybe... he noticed something too. Not the loudest voice in class. Not the brightest attention-seeker. But the girl who stayed back, whose designs carried emotions no one else could draw, whose silence spoke louder than words. What happens when a man who values dignity above everything meets a girl who has never been valued at all? When admiration turns into understanding... When silence turns into connection... When two completely different worlds begin to align.. A story begins. Not loud. Not rushed. Not perfect. But real. Ranks - No.1 in Slowburn (24 feb 2025)

Set in the 1980s, in a village where traditions hold more power than dreams. Tara-a young woman trapped by societal expectations, burdened by rejection, and scarred by loss. With nowhere left to turn, she finds herself at the edge of despair, questioning if there's anything left to fight for. Then there's Dhruv-a man who refuses to accept the world's injustices as fate. Practical yet defiant, he challenges the very beliefs that have kept Tara caged. When their paths collide on a fateful night, neither of them realizes that this meeting will change their lives forever. This is their story-a tale of love, defiance, and the struggle to break free from a society that refuses to change. But in a world where rules are set in stone, can love truly rewrite destiny? ☆ Warning - This story explores themes that may be sensitive or uncomfortable for some readers. It is entirely fictional and based on my imagination. Given its setting in the 1980s, in a rural village, certain events may reflect harsh societal realities. Reader discretion is advised.

I clutched my bridal saree tightly and sat nervously on the flower-decorated bed. My throat felt dry as I swallowed hard. I was about to lift my veil when the door creaked open. My eyes instantly darted toward him. He stepped in, removed his kurta casually, and came to sit in front of me. My heart pounded. I shut my eyes, but within moments, he gently lifted my veil. "Ankhein kholo," he whispered. Slowly, I opened my eyes. He was even more handsome than I had imagined-fairer than me, with eyes so deep and mesmerizing that they held me captive. My breath caught when he said softly, "Takane ke liye poori umar padi hai... abhi so jaaye." Embarrassment flushed my cheeks, and I lowered my gaze to my toes. But then he held my chin tenderly, guiding my eyes back to him. "Jaakar kapde badal lo," he said gently. I nodded, quickly rising to my feet. As soon as I stepped into the bathroom, I exhaled a long, shaky breath. Tonight was the first time I had seen him so closely... and yet, he was so unexpectedly gentle.

Prapti was the kind of girl everyone called a "baddie" confident, beautiful, bold, and always surrounded by attention. But behind her perfect image was a girl completely unlucky in love. Every relationship she had ever been in ended with cheating, lies, and heartbreak, until she finally stopped believing in love altogether. Then came Yuvraj. Quiet, nerdy, awkward, and the complete opposite of her world. What Prapti didn't know was that Yuvraj had been her one-sided lover for years, loving her silently from afar without expecting anything in return. Their story began with a fake relationship. Prapti needed a boyfriend to get rid of her toxic ex, and Yuvraj agreed instantly, even knowing his feelings for her were real. At first, everything between them was just an act...fake dates, fake texts, fake smiles for the world. But slowly, things changed. The more time they spent together, the more Prapti realized Yuvraj loved her differently. Gently. Purely. He listened to her, stayed during her worst moments, and cared for her in ways nobody else ever had. For the first time, love felt safe instead of painful. And somewhere between pretending and healing, their fake relationship became real. While teaching Prapti what true love looked like, he was silently fighting the hardest battle of his own life. When she found out, her world shattered. Because the boy she once treated as temporary had become the only person who ever loved her sincerely. Yuvraj showed her that real love is not about grand promises....it's about staying, caring, and loving someone even when life is falling apart.
