Asami Kaneko was saved by the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, when a demon attacked her home and, much like many people in this demon ridden world, her parents and younger brother were killed. Upon seeing the young six year old, Kanroji decided to take in the girl. Mitsuri and the other Hashira's raise Asami to be a demon slayer, teaching her the art of breathing techniques and how to slay demons for the greater good of humanity.
