Marius also begins to develop feelings for her, but it is questionable how sentimental these feelings are. However, neither Éponine nor Marius know how much Enjolras had loved Éponine for years. Will Enjolras build up the courage to tell her or will he lose the girl he loves to Marius and watch her go down a path that will lead to her pain and suffering?
