After his humilating defeat, DBK returns to his hidden lair and attempts to find another way to defeat MK and his mentor, Monkey King. They have a daughter named Xiao, who has both Fire powers and Monkey King powers. Xiao dreams to one day be a hero, just like her Dads. But they worry that she might not be able to handle the consequences that come with that responsibility. But when danger strikes, she along with her friends are the only ones who can stop it.
