"-and then the professor said..." Amara's voice trailed off as she noticed Yakov's intense gaze. "What?" He didn't respond, his eyes darkening as he stepped closer to her. The air between them grew thick, charged with an electricity that made Amara's breath hitch. She stopped walking, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yakov?" she whispered, her voice trembling. He closed the distance between them, his hand brushing against her cheek. His touch was firm, almost possessive, and she froze. His thumb traced the curve of her lower lip, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. "You talk too much," he murmured, his voice low and rough. Before she could respond, he dipped his head and captured her lips in a kiss. It wasn't gentle or tentative-it was rough, demanding, and full of hunger. His hand slid to the back of her neck, holding her in place as he deepened the kiss. Amara gasped, her hands instinctively gripping his shirt for balance.

Kayla had only two dreams: to work hard, save enough for college, and to one day fall in love with a man who would cherish her just as deeply. She promised herself that all her firsts, especially her first kiss, would be with him, and no one else. Then came Aiden, blunt, emotionally closed-off, and completely lacking in social awareness. And the first thing he did? Shatter the careful plans Kayla had built for herself. Life, it turns out, has a way of stealing moments you thought you'd control. --- Excerpt. My heart pounded and my palms turned clammy. I could feel myself spiraling as I brought trembling fingers to my swollen lips. My first kiss. My stolen first kiss. "You... you..." A tear slid down my cheek, and I wiped it away with frustration. He took something that wasn't his to take, something I had saved for someone who would love me, someone I would love in return. My soulmate. I didn't know how to make sense of it all. It had happened so fast. "Relax, princess," he said with a scoff. "It's just a kiss. No need to overreact." His words hit me like a slap and sank like a punch to the gut. He stole it. And he didn't even care.

When Aurora moves to the small city of Boston after her mom's remarriage, she hopes for a fresh start. But at Wilson High, being the new girl isn't easy-especially when cliques are tight and reputations mean everything. Desperate to fit in, she sets her sights on the cheer team, believing it's her ticket to popularity. Enter Abraham-popular, charming, and completely out of her league. When an unexpected deal forces them into a fake relationship, Aurora thinks she's finally cracked the high school code. But as lines blur between what's real and what's just for show, she starts to wonder... is faking it the only way to belong, or is there something real worth fighting for? Aurora leaned against the bleachers, arms crossed tightly, her gaze sharp as she studied Abraham. He stood in front of her, hands stuffed in his jacket pockets, his usual confidence slightly dimmed by the weight of what he was asking. "So let me get this straight," she said, tilting her head, her voice laced with skepticism. "You want me to pretend to be your girlfriend so your ex can see you've 'moved on'? That's the plan?" Abraham exhaled, dragging a hand through his already-messy brown hair. "Yeah... Look, I know it sounds ridiculous, but she won't leave me alone. She still thinks there's something between us, and I just need her to get the hint." His light blue eyes flickered to hers, unreadable. "And you'd benefit too. People would actually notice you. Make things a little easier for you here."
