Cassandra Anderson is an expert in grief. Her mother died giving birth to her and she was adopted by a raging alcoholic. After being emotionally and physically abused all her life, she disguised herself with popularity. With blonde hair, a football-playing boyfriend, parties, and drugs. One night as she's stumbling drunk in the middle of the street, she meets Alexander Black- a caring, shy boy who shows her kindness. I hate to say that this is the story of a cutter. However it is. For 14 year old Lillian, life is just beginning, but its like waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Dealing with the loss of her sister, things start bad then they just escalate. And don't even try opening your mouth because people just DON'T understand. Its too difficult to be heard. Especially when you're the outsider. The freak. The girl with the mental problems. Sometimes you just wanna give up. Just forget it all. Sometimes the taunting voices just become to much. Lillian lives her life in shadows, with only the comfort of sharp shiny metal pieces. Can some one save her before its too late?

She suddenly has friends, a boyfriend, and a loving sister. But what if all of this newfound glory made Ellen forget who she use to be. Who she really was. Letting popularity and peer pressure get to her, Ellen becomes a monster and doesnt know how to be stopped, until a ex boyfriend finds a way to remind her who she use to be.
