After getting her degree, she is convinced by Javi, a good friend and member of Meg and Kate's old team, and Kate to return to Oklahoma to help with a project when she meets Tornado Wrangler Tyler Owens. But they don't meet for the first time. Meg and Tyler were neighbors growing up and Tyler often went on storm chases with Meg and her parents. During a storm when they were kids, Tyler made a vow that he would marry her one day. After a rodeo goes wrong, Tyler decides to go take meteorology classes and Bill takes him under his wing and teaches him everything he knows. Meg and Tyler go their separate ways; Meg to join Kate's team and Tyler to make his successful YouTube channel. After seeing Meg again, Tyler makes it his mission to not let her slip away again. He's determined to chase the storm chaser, Megan Joanne Harding.
