It's the dawn of a new world, where darkness is faced at every turn and mankind is number one on earth's hit list.
Elanora Daelynn Burns is stuck in the middle of the apocalypse as a terrified orphan without a place to call home. Her father's been killed, her house was sucked deep into the pit of the earth with him in it, and she was unceremoniously ripped from her old life and tossed into a new one filled with danger and insanity.
Nora's one goal in this apocalypse is to carry out the promise she made to her father and survive, until she finds a mystical golden ring, with looping script in a foreign language engraved on it's brass, radiating an aura of intoxicating power. Now she is a given a new purpose, and a new promise to fulfill that pertains to much more than just her own survival.
Secrets are revealed, and even more hidden, and Nora realizes that the things in her past she's been running from, are exactly the things she's been unknowingly running towards.
Nora's strength is tested, and her will stretched farther than she thought possible. Torn between her heart, and her destiny, Nora must choose her path wisely.
