This is the fictional story of a non fiction character. William Marshal lived in the late 12th century and died in the early 13th century. I read a book by another author and unwillingly found myself in 1199 watching William and his young wife getting married. Later I cried with the rest of his family as he lay dying still loyal to his country. I hope that by the time this story is finished you will take away a feeling of being in medieval England when knights were chivalrous and women were often seen as the bearers of heirs and not much more.
