Második évadban: Minho és a Tisztás egy része sikeresen kijutott az Útvesztőből. A VESZETT szinlelt mentőakciót rendez, de maguk a fiúk is érzik, itt valami nincs rendben. A Futárok Előljárója képtelen otthagyni minden szenvedést, a nap, amikor nem tudta megmenteni Claire-t, még hónapokkal az eset után is égetően fáj. Senki sem ad nekik választ, Newt viszont nem nyugszik amig nem tudja mi történt igazán Claire-rel azon a napon. Thomas, Minho és Newt kutakodni kezdenek és olyan vizekre eveznek amik egyszerre öntenek tiszta vizet a pohárba, és tépnek fel újra sebeket. Ám amikor rájönnek mit tervez a VESZETT és útnak indulnak, egy csapat Túlélő fogja el őket. A Túlélők között viszont egy ismerős arc feltűnik, Claire. Hát akkor, kezdetét vette a történet. Nem igazán szeretnék Prológust írni, mert azzal túl sok mindent elárulnék a történetről már az elején, és így nem lenne benne semmi meglepetés. A story a The Scorch Trial utáni 1 hónapot öleli fel, amikor csak Thomas szenvedését láthatjuk, a többi fiú cselekedeteit pedig nem. Én ezt az űrt szeretném kitölteni, de ki tudja, lehet, hogy a végén belefolyok az eredeti történetbe. Próbálok minél kevesebb Spoiler-t beletenni, hogy ne áruljak el sokat azoknak akik csak a filmet látták vagy csak az első kötetet olvasták.
