Philip stood in the hatch, his leather trench coat snapping like a whip in the wind. Through his binoculars, he watched the tan silhouette of a Panzer IV Ausf. H cresting the ridge behind them. Its long 75mm gun didn't wobble; it didn't hesitate. It tracked them with a calm, terrifying fluidity that suggested the girl on the other end of that turret wasn't playing the same game they were. "Commander, he's laid on us!" Jack's voice lost its swagger, replaced by a sudden, sharp edge of genuine fear. "The traverse is too steady! I can't get a bead!" Philip's hazel eyes narrowed, the amber tint turning to cold, hard flint as he saw the muzzle flash of the Panzer IV. "Don't look at the gun, Jack!" Philip commanded, his voice a chilling anchor in the chaos. "Look at the emblem on the side. That's the Anglerfish. Hiroshi-Blitz-Gambit, Pattern Delta!
