Gotham was going to hell. I didn't mean it in the rude way, I was just stating a fact. There wasn't anyone in this city that was going to make it anywhere in their life that wasn't the pits of burning death. It's so trashed up that Batman and his dorky sidekicks don't even bring hope into my life anymore. I guess I'm not really helping to clean up the city either but at least I don't pretend it can get cleaned up. I know what my life is supposed to be. I rebelled against it but not that much to become a good guy. It's hard to be a good guy when you're the apple that didn't roll far from it's tree. Who was I to talk about goodness? I was destined for failure the day Black Mask became my father.
