Zhakari doesn't do softness. Doesn't do love. He's the type to make grown men cry, kill without blinking, and trust no soul. But then came Mavi. She didn't know who he was when he first walked into her shop needing a cover-up tattoo for something violent from his past. But she felt it instantly-his storm. The rage, the stillness... and the brokenness buried beneath. Everyone tells her to stay away from Zhakari. He's dangerous. Cruel. A walking red flag with blood on his hands. But when he's with her... he's still. He listens. He breathes. He wants to try. Only she can pull him back from the edge when the rage consumes him. Only she can touch him when he's mid-meltdown. And when he finds out someone from her past wants to harm her? God help the city.

In a world of drugs and guns that men dominate, Kaya Okoro is feared amongst them all for the standing her father's mafia holds and the reputation she has built by carrying out deeds that no other can do without leaving a trace. However, with her father's sudden passing she and her family are now left extremely susceptible to the dangers of the male dominated world that would rather burn than to see a woman, her mother, lead the mafia. Unwilling to back down, Kaya's family do their best to put on a brave face by attending the annual gala of peace between all mafias, where she is reunited with Dakari Adisa, a childhood friend.. Dakari Adisa is a well respected and connected man who built his empire with his own two hands, drugs being its strong foundation. He isn't close to his family due to issues with his parents, so in his world are only a small circle of friends who replace them. When all hell breaks loose at the gala of peace and Kaya is at the center of it. Unable to set herself free, Dakari gives her a hand per her mother's request, but this hand comes with the proposal of marriage, something Kaya didn't think she would involve herself in, though with her life on the line she has no choice but to accept. And unsurprisingly being married to Dakari not only saves her life but reawakens feelings she can't understand and doesn't want to because ironically in a world as deadly as this one she fears nothing but emotions.

Vanilla, acrylic paint, and stubborn hope cling to her skin like second nature. She doesn't follow rules, and she definitely doesn't follow men. But Diego Romierz isn't just any man. After getting in trouble for the millionth time, Landon's mother makes the decision to ship him off to Montana to stay with his father for the summer. The thought of spending those long, sweltering days in the middle of nowhere, far from the comforts of city life-complete with relentless heat, annoying bugs, and the occasional wild animal-was far from what Landon had envisioned for his summer break. But as fate would have it, he wasn't prepared for what lay ahead, especially not for meeting Clementine. As Landon steps out of the dinner, he notices a group of boys. And one of them hops off the truck's hood, his mischievous smile lighting up a face. "Looky here, we got us a city boy," he mocks, sizing Landon up with a scrutinizing gaze. Landon feels the defiance sparking within him. "A city boy that can whoop your ass," he retorts, his voice stead. He squares his shoulders. "Guys, leave him alone," a voice cuts through the tension as a dark-skinned beauty jumps out of the truck, her presence commanding the group's attention. Landon's gaze drifts toward her, and he can't help but take her in fully from her slicked-back curly hair to her dusty boots that tell stories of their own. There's a fierce spark in her eyes, as if she can see right through him-confronting any lingering uncertainty he has about being here. He watches her engage with the boys, still keeping an eye on the one that spoke. Suddenly, the summer landscape doesn't feel so indifferent, and the oppressive heat seems a little less daunting. Maybe this summer won't be so bad after all.

Armand Volkova is not a man who believes in fate. At twenty-five, the Russian-French mafia heir is already a name soaked in blood and whispered in fear. Tattooed, cold-eyed, and carved from stone, Armand moves through Manhattan like a wolf in a designer suit-dangerous, untouchable, and completely detached from the glittering world around him. That is, until she crashes into him-literally. Aimará Dunham is everything he's not. A Spanish-Ethiopian Olympic figure skater from London, she's all soft curls, warm brown eyes, and the kind of poise only the world's stage can give. Graceful, brilliant, and entirely unaware of the storm she just collided with. Living alone in Manhattan for college, she only wanted coffee that day... not a collision with the city's most dangerous man. For Armand, it's love at first sight. Obsession, even. A fixation he can't understand-but doesn't want to escape. He wants her. Needs her. Not just in his bed, but in his arms, in his life, in every bloodstained part of it. For Aimará, he's an enigma-hauntingly beautiful, but cold, strange, and far too intense. Their connection is undeniable, but hers is a slow burn... complicated by instincts that scream he's hiding something lethal. As secrets unravel and her perfect world begins to darken, Aimará finds herself pulled deeper into Armand's orbit. But when the truth surfaces-when she discovers who he truly is-will she run? Or will she stay with the devil who treats her like an angel?
