Tales of loathsome kings and prophesied saviors aren't so appealing when you are a royal bastard of prophecy... Evonalé Yunan is supposed to somehow free her grandmother's enslaved people, but she's merely a child, and her father is the powerful fire mage who subjugates the realm. She has therefore fled home, her half-siblings, and the father who really should've been her uncle. Unfortunately, it's the middle of winter. Fortunately, following her mother's directions has put her in another king's hunting grounds. To Evonalé's bewilderment, that king picks her up and gives her a place in his castle. The prince seeks her out to tease and befriend. Then one of Cook's daughters starts teaching her magic, and a scullery maid proves herself immune to poison. Evonalé isn't the only one with secrets. ----------- Followed by "A Fistful of Earth"

SNAP, a multinational celeb TV show and magazine, is the holy grail for Maxie Gwenoch. When she snags the job as managing editor, she’s looking for fame, fortune and Jimmy Choos. What she finds is a media empire owned by Baron Kandesky and his family. A family of vampires. They’re European, urbane, wealthy and mesmerizing. And when she meets Jean-Louis, vampire and co-worker, she’s a goner. The Kandesky vampire family rose in Hungary centuries ago. They gave up violence and killing to make a killing on the world’s commodities markets and with that beginning they built SNAP, an international celebrity multimedia empire. Now cultured…and having found food substitutes for killing…they’ve cornered the world market for celebrity and gossip journalism. They haven’t fully left the past behind. Their Hungarian neighbors and rival vampire clan, the Huszars are starting to ramp up attacks, maybe looking to start a war to take over all the Kandeskys have built. Maxie believes she’s found her ultimate career. She doesn’t realize that she’s found a family feud like none other, a centuries-old rivalry between vampire families, with her as the linchpin. Bells ring with Jean-Louis, but she doesn’t realize they’re alarm sirens until she learns that Jean-Louis is second in command of the Kandeskys…but by then it’s too late.

"Never have I ever drugged someone before I fucked them." Three of the guys took a drink, causing me to scoff. These are the people I hang out with?! When did my life go so downhill? The guys set their shots down and one of the girls on the outside poured the drinks again. "My turn." I moved my gaze to the man across from me, already feeling the knots start to form is my stomach. Oh God no. Please, no. "Never have I ever," he started, smirking my way, "been raped." My hands started shaking and my breathe caught in my throat as I looked down at my glass. Do I take it? If they find out.... No, they can't find out. "What's wrong Sammie? You look troubled." He smiled, causing my stomach to turn even more. How the fuck did he know? I was so young, there's no way he could know. "N-Nothing I just.. I..." A gasp was heard to my right, and it looked like it came from Amy. "Oh my God...." We all turned to the left, and I felt my mouth drop open as I stared at the guy who was now setting his glass down. No way. No way in hell..... "Quit looking at me like that." He snapped, going to stand up. "Come on Sammie, let's get out of here." He walked over and grabbed my hand, pulling me up from the ground. "Greg, consider yourself removed from the fucking group." Quite. Invisible. Outcast. Some of the many words that people use to describe Sammie Lorenzo. But they forget the most important two. Broken and Lonely. Sammie's had it hard, and to cope she's turned everyone away. The only one who gets to the real Sammie is her little brother Dennis. After a stream of bad decisions, Sammie ends up getting involved with none other than the Gruesomes. And the trouble begins with a game of Never Have I Ever. Will Dane, the Gruesomes leader, figure out exactly what caused Sammie to become the way she is?

For the first time in a looooong while, Lacy reconsiders her vow. Because sexy Chase Kelly, wounded soul that he may be, would be an oh-so-delicious way of breaking her fast. [TRIGGERING] Her eyes crystallized at the last gasp of breath she took was exhaled. Brown curls hung from the arms of her one and only love, and her body was stiff and frigid as of now. Bloodstains surrounded the death wound, and she claimed that it didn't hurt. She said that it was perfect. Dying in the arms of the only man she could've loved. Little does he know, that right about now, his one and only love is dancing in the daisies with a bow and arrow nearby. Little does he know about her laughing whilst she twirls, her hair becoming one with the wind. Now, she's safe. This, contradicting her death, is perfect. "I love you, Scott McCall," she whispered through gasps of air and gurgles of blood. - Arden Pass is dead, and somehow it resembled the death of her queen, Allison Argent. Aside from the fact of being stabbed in the abdomen by a sword operated by a mythological Japanese warrior, of course. Suffering a bullet wound in the abdomen from a gun operated by an unknown antagonist, the girl immediately dies in the arms of her boyfriend. She finally got the chance to tell him she loved him. The following is a study of her friends and their feelings during the aftermath of her death.
