It's a race against time (not the Steve) as a new enemy appears that is neither Human, Player or Steve. The Chromatic Steves have to find out how to stop this new enemy like their ancestors did long ago. Meanwhile, Sabre is trying to hide the fact that no matter how much sleep he's been getting, he has been feeling drained as of late. He just had to continue on until this slump passes, that's all. Of course, with all his friends constantly checking in on him, and the fact he lives with Time, it might be easier said than done. - In an attempt to win against the Chromatic Steves and Sabre, Void unleashes a being that is not Human, Player, or Steve. A parasitic creature that chooses a person to slowly leach energy from until their demise. Now free from its confines and with a new partner to spread the darkness around, it finds a source of energy to leach from. The odd one out in a world full of Steves. - Lucas just wanted a normal life. That plan was flipped on his head as several things start to go wrong. First Sabre, his best friend, goes missing and doesn't come back. Then it's discovered that Players are being reborn once more and Lucas was one of the lucky few. Of course that would mean something if he didn't go into the woods and was somehow brought to a new world. What the hell are Steves, this so called Darkness, and why do some of them keep saying something about 'another human'? How do they know Sabre's name?!

The Steves truly should learn how to wield a sword correctly. To learn how to care for a crystal. To train themselves to wield the weapons they tried to create. Yet they failed. And with that failure they made an enemy. -------------------------------- An au in which Sabre has had enough. The episodes where Orange/Rainbow tried to split from the crystal went differently. Sabre took Rainbow/Orange and ran. He's a hero that is somewhat seen as a Villain in other people's eyes, but he could care less.

Racing ran in our blood, it was something that nobody in my family could deny. The thrill from being at a dead standstill to over 90 in mere seconds was something that we could never give up. Only two years prior, Sabre's older brother, Rainbow- who was a well known racer, was caught in a freak accident that took his life. After being the Flash for two years our hero Sabre falls. He receives and injury that will effect his powers as the Flash Forever. For a new job he becomes a foster parent and takes care of kids to help him feel better and contribute to Core City even though he can no longer fight or the city thanks to his injury. He is trying to recover as quickly as possible to gain his powers back and fight once again. Rainbow is a 12 year old boy who has been to home to home in the foster care system. No longer wanting to trust others and no memories of his past parents he doesn't care much about people and just wants to be left alone. Tired of the foster care system he swears that this will be the last home he will be in. A new villain arises as well. With no Flash to protect the city they can do as they please. They can't wait until they find "the one they are looking for." Fate will tie them together very soon.

Instead of it brining peace it brings tension of which Steve Color will disappear next in the battle of Complimentary Colors. The Red Apprentice worry grows for Sabre as well as his new responsibility to keep the Red Steves hidden. He wishes to make them known while the Red Leader believes they must stay hidden for eternity. Red Professor has been growing hungry for knowledge of all Steves. The boundaries of worlds, and what exactly Sabre is. Time learns the truth of Elemental flaws and why he has changed from good to evil. Time also must learn the truths of the unknown and what it truely wants. All while he searches for his missing friend. Each story is tied to one person who now hides in the forest that most steves are to scared to to enter.

All these short stories within this book are 100% canon to the series, so pay close attention. Sabre the leader of the code jumpers, finds old ruined books of the past. It's his job to translate these books in secret at the same time fighting to protect the Steves. What secrets are hidden in these old languages and how will the young leader react to what the past has to offer. The past has tales long forgotten, by all those who live. With legends of old, all to guide those who live in the future. As the struggle of the steves slowly leaks into the struggle of the Code Jumpers.

A feeling of calm is descending upon the Steves as new truths are being revealed. Light is back and alive by a miracle no-one can say why, while Sabre, Lucas, and Tewtiy discover new truths about their family lineage. Yet even still, a dark cloud lurks on the horizon.
