The year is 2011. The world has slowly grown to embrace the arrival of Dragonkind, with the rising number of interspecies couples being more accepted if still controversial. Shelby Grant and her beloved mate, Sybus, the survivor of the ghost dragon race hunted to extinction, live life happily with the surprising new addition of their son, Samson. Despite the shock of what this could mean for the wider world at large, they keep to themselves to protect their newfound family and matehood. Once in the world lived dragons of any kind and shape. Among them was one who differed. Her name is Weyra. Turns out it's mostly chaos, trauma, and moral lectures from a broody lizard with resting judgment face. Is this epic fantasy? A deep dive into trauma and culture clash? Or just the story of a noble runaway who drives his reluctant mentor insane? Spoiler: all of the above ^_^ I'm Gran. Idealist. Escapist. Walking disaster. I wanted to change the world. What I got was Grynoth - emotionally constipated, magically overqualified, and somehow responsible for keeping me alive. I thought this would be fun. A few spells. A few brawls. Maybe a noble quest.
